I have been, in the past, an avid user of Entertainment Books. I wait to buy them until after the first of the year, when I can usually get them at a substantial discount with free shipping.
This year, however, I have had unprecedented bad luck in getting the coupons to work. One restaurant's coupon was misprinted... a coupon that said save 20% anytime was not accepted at a lunch buffet. Another restaurant had been sold since the books were published, and the new owner wasn't accepting them. I reported them both to Entertainment, of course, but it's still annoying.
However, my Entertainment book finally paid for itself! I had to book a couple of nights at a hotel, and found a Super 8 that had good reviews. I went through the Entertainment website after logging in, and saved about $12/night on a $70 room. Ebates offers a rebate on Super 8, and I was going to use that, but it's only 1.5%. I'm glad that it popped into my head to try Entertainment.com! I think it was 20% off their best available rate, which was even better than AAA.
I'm such a savings geek.
