Has anyone ever auditioned (or are currently part of the Disney Entertainment) at the parks for positions such as the improv actors, dancers, or singers? I am considering auditioning and would like any tips such as what exactly to wear to the audition, what to put on a resume when you currently do not have any experience, and what to look for when picking the monologue to audition with. I would appreciate any advise/tips anyone has to offer if you could please respond to this post or PM me. Thank you.

Bumping just in case there is anyone reading the boards today that can help me.

Although I didn't audition for any acting parts, I did audition and become a dancer at MK for four years...but this was from 92 - 95.

I don't think it matters what you wear, just make sure you look clean cut. No revealing outfits, no crazy makeup, big earrings, facial hair (don't know if you are male or female), tattoos (cover them up), etc.

For the dance auditions, they had us all learn a routine which we did in groups of about 8. After everyone finished that, they narrowed the group down to about 75 people (from about 500). Next they had us learn another routine while traveling down the floor and they then narrowed the group down to about 40.

The third step was the acting/lip-synching part. They lined up in groups of four or so, and had us act out a scenario that they gave us. It was pretty basic stuff. When that was over, they lined us all up and took a VERY long time to decide. They then separated us into which parts and roles they wanted us to be and that was it!

As far as a resume goes, if you have any experience at all (like classes, workshops, etc.) just put that on there. If the process is still the same, they had everyone fill out an application and attach their resume to it, so really more info goes into the application than the resume anyway.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

Wow- awesome info. I want to be a dancer for Disney sometime in my lifetime. Thanks!

I don't have any info for you, but I just wanted to wish you good luck and to send you some pixie dust!!pixiedust:

hi! i've auditioned before to be a fur character...I would suggest wearing something comfortable a t -shirt and shorts or comfortable pants since you will be loving around alot..sneakers.. the biggest advice I can give is don't be afraid to look stupid...the more rediculous you look the better! exagerate everything they tell you to do...in fact they will tell you to make things bigger than you would in real life...and have fun!

as far as autitioning for something else I have no clue but break a leg!

DS auditioned for Disney Entertainment (as a musician) 3 times (didn't make it the first two times). All 3 times he dressed neatly, but he thought that his enthusiasm for the job was what finally won them over the third time (BTW, I see you're from Texas-that's where he did the auditioning). And GOOD LUCK!

Thanks to those who responded - even if it was just to wish me luck! :thumbsup2 (I'm going to need it.)

Joanna71985 - thank you for the link, I have looked over that website.

Kstinw19 - thank you for telling me about your experience - that's the kind of info I'm looking for. I want to audition to be one of their comedic actors. That's cool that you were a dancer there for 4 years.
