Anyone use them recently? We've decided flying out of AUS (and to stop and see family) makes more sense for us. Plus better fares than either in Houston. But I don't want to go nuts trying to get off the ship early ASAP, gets transport, and rush over to a car rental office that tells me they already rented all the minivans (including my reservation) and only have compacts left.

Good/bad recommendations? I'm not against an Uber to Hertz even for the distance 'cause I trust them but closer doesn't hurt.

I've used Enterprise in other locations and always had good experiences with them.

We just used Enterprise in another city and had great service.
Our next DCL is out of Galveston and we are exploring airport transfer options. I found a very helpful post titled "6 Easy Houston to Galveston Cruise Transport Options" that detailed the cost and pros/cons of each method. It's not Austin, obviously, but it may give you a ballpark for the best method for you. And it mentions Enterprise in Galveston, plus parking options. I'm not going to link it, but you can search for that title if you are interested.

We did a one-way drop at the Galveston Enterprise. Had a great experience. If you are picking up after a cruise I'd give them a call as you are getting off the ship to have them pick you up. It is a smaller operation so you may want to call before your cruise to make sure they will have the vehicle class you want. When we were there they did have quite a few vehicles. But again, it is a small operation.

I don't blame you for your concern. Our experience with Enterprise in Galveston a few years back was that they did not have a minivan for us even with a reservation. They were super nice, but we did have a bit a wait for a car that would accommodate the 6 of us.

Thanks everyone for your input. This one is definitely a roll of the dice.

Yeah for my upcoming cruise the one way fares for Enterprise from either airport in Houston to Galveston were insane...like 200 for a one way trip. We decided on Disney transportation and Disney lodging for much less.
