Rates have really fallen for some rentals this week. For the week starting Sunday, July 28th I have the following for the same type vehicle:
Budget.............$233
Dollar...............$193
Enterprise.........$163

I have rented from Alamo and Budget in the past but never Dollar/Enterprise.
Would love to go with the least expensive. Any reason not to rent with Enterprise?

Reviews on all companies are very mixed although Dollar's reviews are less appealing.

Thanks

Exact dates and car type?

7/28 to 8/4 ...... Full size ..... one week rental ........ prices are complete

The Enterprise price I got on the Costco site this morning and when I looked this afternoon it had gone up to $207.
Seems like you have to keep checking often. When I originally booked several months ago the best price I had was $375

Since you are past the 1 week point, those rates are about right. I stopped renting from Dollar etc about 4-5 years ago and never went back from National but it's coming out higher than what you are showing now with any legit code/coupon set i know of and I'm crazy cheap.

Only once with Enterpri$e at MCO and never again but that's IMHO.

See and that's my Opinion of BUDGET @ MCO. No problems when we have rented from Enterprise!!! We have even gotten FREE upgrades after paying because the vehicle type didn't meet my needs with my disability and they wanted me to be happy. Wow! Now that's customer service!!

Budget on the other hand...Overbooked and ran out of ANY size SUV (as in they only had cars left!) Until someone returned one. So they had NOTHING there that would work for me for over 2 hrs even though I had a reservation!!! And it took us almost 3 hrs with budget to get that mess straightened out. So for me I say, I won't rent from them ever again at. MCO! It was TRULY a NIGHTMARE & huge waste of valuable time!

I prefer budget for the spouse can drive with no extra fee. We have mostly stuck with rental car companies that allow spouse to drive with no extra fee.

Enterprise doesn't charge for spouses either. And when I have picked up a car from them (non MCO locations...because @MCO we are always together when renting) they have accepted a photocopy of DH's driver's license to add him as a drriver. He didn't even have to be there!!! :)

DW is not planning to drive and we are not putting that many miles on. Needed to get to our non WDW property on Sunday before meeting up with 4 kids/4 grand kids on Monday at PORFQ. Provides a transfer from MCO; transportation on Sunday; ability to pick up a few things for the week; transfer to PORFQ on Monday; a car at our disposal if needed during the week although we plan to use WDW transportation......worth $163 (or less) but not much more. We'll stick with Enterprise and see how it goes.....Thanks!

Enterprise doesn't charge for spouses but they do need to have their license on file to be an approved driver. If I were you, I would add her even if she doesn't plan to drive. It won't cost you anything and you never know if there might be an emergency or something where she may need to.....JMHO. :)

Great idea.....Thanks!

Enterprise owns Alamo, just a FYI. I would go with Enterprise. Like with any car rental company, they are going to try to see you "stuff", just say NO if you are not interested. They will walk around the car with you and note any damage. They are very very customer oriented. Some say intensely.

I tend to agree with you on them being VERY customer oriented and they give their agents a good bit of authority so that they don't have to go running to the 'boss' for approval to do things! I have had excellent experiences with them with one exception and that was regarding waiting for a pick up upon debarkation from DCL to go to their rental office in Port Canaveral. They were VERY short staffed that day and it was truly a nightmare but in all my other 30+ rentals from them have been A++++!!!!!!

Thanks everyone......prices fall every day. When I started months ago a full size for the week was $375 and up. Right now I'm at $163/Enterprise/Costco and $153/Dollar/AAA.

Guess it is supply and demand because Alamo, National and Budget are all much higher.....$100+ higher! I'm going to stick with the Enterprise deal. Advice......keep checking daily.

I hate to give direct opinions of any of them since I have been with National/Alamo for such a long stretch now it would be unfair of me to do so at this point. I'm sure staff and policies have changed over many years and things can differ hourly as to what happens with all of the agencies.

They all still exist because people rent from all of them every day so somebody likes each of them. I mainly prefer to pick my car out and will give quite a bit of slack to National/Alamo for just that reason alone. I've even considered renting 365 from National before rather than leasing but the mileage to my closest airport always changes my mind in the end (swapping out cars for maintenence is a hassle). Also the KLM code is so inclusive, it almost always wins out apples to apples lately :)
