Okay, this is a post to Disney, but I would love to see your responses/suggestions. . .

For the love of all that is recycled plastic. . . . Disney. . . STOP SENDING ME MAGICBANDS!!!! I now have six magic bands for three trips!!!!

We have a six night stay at V@GF:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 We made this ressie awhile ago. Now, we are already in possesion of Magicbands from our previous trips. So imagine my surprise when I went on My Disney Experience and they wanted me to confirm my shipping address!!!! For WHAT?!?!?!?! Yep, Mickey wanted to send us BRAND NEW MagicBands. . . WE DON'T NEED THEM!! WE STILL HAVE OUR 64 bands from PREVIOUS TRIPS!

Then, we decided to add-on one night to our stay at AKL. Just one night. . . Guess what??? MORE BANDS ON THE WAY!!!!

I think I figured out why this thing is costing a billion dollars! I have 4.5 million in RF bands at my house!

Seriously, is there ANYTHING a Disney consumer/fan-of-the-earth can do to STOP the shipments????

While you are writing your answer, please excuse me. . . I have an iceberg to melt somewhere north. . . . . .

Totally feel your pain. We've had 5 trips this past year on our APs, so we have six sets of Magic Bands, as well as my son lost his on our first trip so he was issued a replacement at the resort (gray band) and sent a new orange one to our home. Then his original orange band was found a few hours later and returned to us. We have a total of 22 bands in assorted colors. I think I will make garland for the Christmas tree out of them.

Can't you just not accept them? We have our annual passholder bands so when they asked to verify my address for bands for our hotel stay I just never did. Our stay is just over 2 weeks away so I'm assuming they wont automatically ship more without confirmation.

I was wondering this as well, can't we use the bands from our last trip or do we HAVE to get new bands?

Too bad it wasn't already associated to you. Otherwise you could sell them to people staying off property;)

I just arrived and am using the magic band from my last trip. Do they send them even if you don't go in to customize and verify address?

When I was a CM the plan was to eventually let people reuse bands, but I've been as a guest many times since and that no longer seems to be the case. The first time I tried to reuse a set of bands the people at the hotel were super confused and eventually had to call a manager to figure out how to do it, but in the end we were just given new ones anyway :sad2:

Ha, this wouldn't really do anything. For EMH the Cast Members scan your bands to check if you have an active reservation. If it comes up negative they just send you on your way. Unless you meant for collections or something, in which case, sure! But who would want to collect something that Disney gives away for free? Lol

We have a total of 16 MBs right now between the 4 of us, with 2 more sets coming for our August and November trips. When it's all said and done, we will have 24 MBs... 5 sets from 5 trips, and 1 set for our APs. We are very well-coordinated with our outfits. :duck:

We mainly only use our first set of bands and they have worked fine for all subsequent trips even without being verified at check-in. I didn't try this past weekend but for our Spring Break trip, all 12 of the bands we had at the time worked (opened the room at our resort -- my kids tried them all, just for fun).

If you don't update your address for the bands to be sent, you will get a gray set at check in. I figure I'd rather have the colored ones, so I always confirmed my address. The parking & discount cards came with the AP magic bands, as well as the 'Passholder 2014' slider.

Yep. Don't confirm your address. Super-easy.

TedMosby, you can totally reuse the bands. As far as I know there was never a time that that wasn't allowed. There might have been glitches that would keep one individual from doing it that day, but overall it has been allowed since the beginning.

I personally like the MBs, because I want one of each color. I still need yellow. Then I simply won't confirm my address in the future, and I will say no thank you to the one they want to give me at checkin.

I brought the ones I have on our trip in January; I had two from October and got 4 in Jan because we had 4 separate reservations. DS brought his 5. At each checkin they only ever needed ONE to scan/check/whatever-they-did, and then ALL of them could be used interchangeably to open the door, charge, get into the parks, etc. I had no glitches, and therefore I could see that that is how they were to work.

So, OP, hopefully you got different colors. If so, you can stop confirming your address, and just say no at checkin, and it will be fine.

You say this is to Disney, but have you taken the time to send this to Disney? You might have better success getting them to stop sending them if you tell them directly. Just a thought.

We had our first set of bands as part of our package in November.. then we put our APs on those bands, and used them with no issues on subsequent trips. In March, we stayed on site again - I made the reservation through Orbitz, so we didn't get MagicBands for whatever reason. At the resort, we just had them add our room to our existing bands.

Then they wanted to send me AP bands. Okay, I'm all about new colors. So, got those. I wanted the slider anyway.

I made two on site reservations for this upcoming week - one through Disney and one through Orbitz. I kept getting reminders about customizing my bands for the direct booking, which I ignored, not needing any more of them. I've now received a notification that my magicbands will be waiting on me at the hotel. :headache: So, we've currently got two bands each, with another one at the resort when we get there.

Moral is.. I think you CAN reuse them, at least for room only.
