If we eat at the Cape May Character Breakfast at 8:00 one morning, will we have enough time to eat and still get to DTD for a 9:30 am BBB appointment?

Things are a little complicated because the morning of the BBB appointment we are checking out of CR and into BC. I wanted to check-in at BC that morning before the BBB appointment, which is why I was thinking of having breakfast over at Cape May. Not sure if we'd be better off just eating at CR, then booking it over to BC (we have our own car), checking-in and then taking a bus to DTD. Not sure if we can accomplish all that in 2 hours.

You could make it a little easier on yourselves by having Bell Services get you a taxi or taxi van after breakfast. There are always lots of taxis hanging around the deluxe resorts and they are only about $10-15 to go anywhere on property.... not a bad investment to get you to the Marketplace on time, plus avoiding the indigestion you will give yourselves rushing to drive over and then find parking.

Also, remember the DD bus makes three stops: Marketplace, PI, and West Side. I'm not sure if Marketplace is always first.

Also, remember that the BC often shares buses with YC, BW, Swan and Dolphin. Makes the journey a lot longer!

If it were me, I'd take a cab! :thumbsup2

Have fun!

Good point about the extra stops on the DTD bus. The other complication, which I didn't mention, is that my parents will be tagging along. The problem with that is my dad has cancer so he is rather slow in a foot race. Sounds like I have should have my parents catch a bus from CR to DTD first thing. Then my DH and our girls can meet up with them at BBB. Maybe we'll drive to BC, eat at the Marketplace quickly, then catch the bus to DTD. If we do it that way, without a sit-down breakfast we should have enough time for the BC to DTD bus.

If I am not mistaken, the bus service to DTD early in the morning is extremely limited. Even during the day the DTD bus service is nothing like the service to the parks.

I agree with the suggestion you take a taxi. They are normally waiting for fares, but if one is not available the Cast Member on duty outside will get one for you right away.

If you have your own car, why not just drive to DTD? Why take a bus or a taxi?

We really don't drive at all once we're at disney because it takes so long in the car to get there. I don't mind the bus service, as long as we're not late, even if it is a little long. We may spring for the taxi for convenience, but I like having the bus as a free option. We haven't had problems at WL or POR getting early service to DTD previously. Is it more difficult at BC?

If it were me, I would dine at CR since the restaurants open early. Then I would base the stop at BC on whether there is enough time before driving to DTD. You would need to allow at least a half hour for the stop to check in, and you probably won't be able to get into a room at BC at 8am anyway. That early in the day, you should be able to park very close to the World of Disney at DTD. Although the buses are very convenient, as opposed to driving, if you just miss one, then you may wait 20-30 minutes for the next one. It seems like the buses to DTD didn't start running until about 9am either (although that may vary depending on season - I'm usually there in the off season). I think you'll be more relaxed if you aren't running behind.

You are thinking alone the lines that I was when I planned originally to eat at CR and just drive to DTD. We've never driven to DTD so I wasn't sure about parking and it seemed like it would be nice to just get the check-in process completed at the Beach Club earlier in the day, but it probably really doesn't matter all that much. It does sound like the general consensus on busses is that either the ride could be too long to be convenient, or as you pointed out, if we miss a bus, we could be stuck waiting for another one for a while.

I think the best option for checking in early is to drive to BC, eat at the Marketplace and then drive our car or catch a taxi over to DTD. Sounds like the busses should be our last option. Thanks everyone!

It takes so long in the car to get to DTD? :confused3 It certainly won't be as long as in the bus, since you have to factor the bus wait time in, to say nothing of the fact that the buses don't drive as fast as the cars. I still say drive your own car, as long as you have it, to avoid the cost of the taxi.

I meant it takes so long to get to Disney World from Ohio, not from the hotel to DTD. Sorry for the confusion :)
