Hi all

Dreams is on at 7pm for our dates (park closing) so do you think 7.30pm is pushing it for booking The Steakhouse and King Ludwigs for the nights we plan to dine there?

Also when is best to dine at McDonalds? Before, after or during Dreams?

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

It might be pushing it a bit, but if you leave right as Dreams ends, view it from somewhere where you can easily exit through one of the arcades and walk quickly you might just make it on time, haha!
Not sure about McDonald's but I'd presume before of during would be best, but certainly not after.

I would go for 7.45pm reservations in the Village if Dreams is on at 7pm.

Following along, we've been unsure about timings so will be interesting to see peoples opinions x

Lol I was afraid I had all the symptoms of a militant planner, happy I'm not the only one who finds this part of it all a bit stressy.
My whole thing is eat too early and be hungry/angry for the night, eat too late and the same outcome, eat at the perfect time and miss Dreams!

I'm thinking later is maybe better as we'll be eating a bigger lunch then normal preceded by a big breakfast but ultimately I'm looking for some wisdom and someone to tell me what to do!

Would 5.30pm also be pushing it for Dreams you reckon?

5.30pm to order and eat your McDs? Yes, that should be loads of time. You'll miss the parade going at that time though, won't you?

When the park closes around 7pm I tend to try and have dinner either at 8pm or between the end of the parade and before Dreams! start. Otherwise I worry about being stuck in the crowd of people leaving the park or DW goes and wonders into one of the shops in Main Street and then were shopping and browsing for the next hour.

What about a sit down meal?
I reckon we'll catch it one of the other days. Its hard to pin it all down until we see the park schedules but if I have a loose plan we can work around it better when the time comes :thumbsup2

Lol, im with your wife! :thumbsup2
Its such a bother trying to plan this all out!:(

I'd go for a Village sit-down meal at 5pm, it'll be nice and quiet because the main parade will be on, and you'll be able to relax and take your time over it, before heading back into the main park for Dreams.

I thought Magic On Parade wasn't running during the Christmas season, it's being replaced by the Christmas Cavalcade (3 times a day) isn't it?

Sure it'll still be quiet at 5pm though :)

If you want to see planning you should see my trip planner.:rotfl2:

wanna see my 21 days WDW trip planner, with 21 sit down restaurants booked 180 days out, Fastpass+ booked 60 days out, 4 main parks to deal with and minimizing transport time in a resort the size of San Fransisco ... :rotfl2:

now, about that McD at the village, it's consistently a PITA to begin with
often packed wall to wall.
OP if you want to really schedule things, go for sit downs.

At times, I have spent more time waiting in line at McD at the village than I had all day inside the parks ... (well, almost :p )

Its non-negotiable plus we will have had lunch at BCR. And its a good option budget wise.
It wasn't so bad the last time we were there but we're talking before Dreams was even announced.

Sounds like the best option and we won't be missing out if the cavalcade is on 3 times a day and its around our usual dinnertime. We can always jig things around if we find its too early, it's just I wanted to get reservations made, thanks again Elaine :goodvibes

Sorry, piggy backing on your post.....

McDs - sounds like it's bonkers after Dreams. Does the same apply for Earl of Sandwich?? I'm assuming so! <sob> lol

C x

Sounds like you've got good recommendations. I just thought I'd let you know that my daughter and I got caught up in trying to leave the park and go to the railway station one evening right after Dreams. Despite taking the arcades, the masses of people walking through the gates towards the Village took so long that we ended up turning around.

We've decided to got for earlier times with our meals. We like to get up everyday for EMH so figured if we eat early, we can watch Dreams!, have a wander round The Village to do any shopping and still be in bed at a good time :)

Made our reservations today :cool1:
Two early and two late! I reckon we land at midday the 1st day so we'll be lunching late so 8pm will be ok for dinner and the 3rd night we'll do Dreams and then head to the Chuckwagon so we went for 8.30pm incase the buses are mental!

I just realised I need to change one meal doh. Totally forgot about Cafe Mickey :headache:
