Oct 3rd: Crystal Palace dinner @ 6:05 and Mine Train FP @ 6:40-7:40. Is eating and meeting all the characters going to take too long during a prime meal time to make our FP by 7:40?

I'd think you'll be okay. I'd estimate an hour to 90 minutes for the dinner assuming they seat you on time, which they usually do with an ADR. Also remember there is a little grace period at the end of a FP window, so you don't have to run.

They tell you when you get there that 90 minutes is required to see all the characters so you should be ok assuming you are seated on time. It took us about 60 minutes at lunch. I am assuming you can't move the FP back at all or you would have done so already. I would keep it but just keep checking to see if you can move it back a little so you won't feel rushed. If you have to leave before one of the characters gets around, will you be setting yourself up for a meltdown? It took us a long time to get the check and pay so I would ask for it when you sit down. They are pretty used to that I think.

I keep hearing about CP being bad about seating people right at their ADR time. I'd be a little concerned about that time frame.

I love Crystal Palace. It is our favorite place to eat in the Magic Kingdom. To be able to have a really good buffet and meet Winnie the Pooh and friends is a perfect dinner if you ask me! The characters continually circulate the restaurant so you might want to keep an eye out for which character is coming near your table before you hit the buffet. If you do miss a character you will need to wait until they come back through the restaurant and that might take some time.

If your goal is to meet all of the characters that might be a tight time crunch. At that time of night it might take you 90 minutes to see all of the characters. I would hate to rush my dinner experience and be stressed about trying to get to the Seven Dwarves Mine Train in time for my Fast Pass.
A couple of tips if you can't move your ADR to an earlier time before you leave.
Check at the restaurant during the day to see if there is an opening for a slightly earlier ADR - you never know people change their plans!
Check in at the Crystal Palace at least 15 minutes before your ADR time. This will help you get seating on time during a very busy dinner time.
Let your server know about your FP time. We let our server know about a FP time when we ate at 50's Prime Time Diner and he did everything he could to get us out on time! Cast members rock!
You can pay your bill after you order your drinks and that way when you are done you can just tip your server before heading out for your ride on the Mine Train.

I think you're going to feel rushed. I'd keep watching to see if you can move one or the other to give yourself a little more time.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm not going to cancel anything at this point but I'll just keep my eyes open to see if I can tweak either of them a bit...

I would try to come to CP about 30 minutes prior to adr..with luck you will be seated before your adr time

I would be very worried if you will make it. In my personal experience, at that point Crystal Palace will be in the main part of their dinner rush. I would not count on being seated on time much less any earlier.

I would be a little worried about being seated on time, for sure, but you should make it. Also, you have a 15 minute grace period at the end of your FP+ window, which should help.
