I've heard that the DDP has a lot of food. I'm the kind of person who is perfectly ok with just eating QS for lunch and TS for dinner (all of our ADRs are for dinner and I'd be better off with lunch and something little if anything for breakfast) and a snack....so I'm happy (and dreaming of chocolate mousse:banana:). However DH is the kind of guy who eats B, L and D every day.

For those who are used to eating 3 meals a day-is the DDP enough, too much or too little? I'm ok for paying OOP if we have to, but I'd like some experienced ideas. TIA!

We are a family that eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday. This will be our seventh trip to Disney. Even back when I only ate a little something for lunch and then dinner, I still ate three meals a day at Disney. You just need the food for energy to get through the day. We are using the DDP for the first time this trip. I am planning on paying for breakfast out of pocket. It is the cheapest meal to do so. I know our eating habits at Disney and we do eat three meals a day. We are also a commando family, up early...stay late...no afternoon breaks. So an ice cream in the shade on a bench is our afternoon break. It works for us.
My suggestion is to pay for breakfast for DH and a small something for you. I usually just get a banana and a croissant or a bowl of grits. Small enough to hold me until lunch. I am not a big breakfast person. But I think you will find you need it. Look at www.allearsnet.com at the menus of your resort to see what your breakfast options are. Last trip we were at POP and breakfast for three of us would be around $15 to $20 depending on how hungry the boys were.

We have found the DP works great for us. As you suggested we usually do CS for lunch and TS for dinner. (just a hint Wolfgang Puck Express Downtown is an awesome counter service meal option.) When we arrive in Orlando, we hit a grocery store and pick up cereal, milk, fruit and some snacks. We have breakfast in the room before we head out for the day. It works so well for us and helps keep expenses in line. Plus, the kids enjoy the restaurants, but they are eager to get to the park in the morning. Have a great time!!

We had free dining in September, and found that it was plenty of food! I eat B, L, and D, every day and Disney was no different. But I found myself plenty full and couldn't finish everything. DH isn't a big breakfast person, so I used some of his credits for breakfast too. I think you'll find it to be plenty. Just in case though, figure out what you think you *might* eat using the allears menus so you know which you think you might pay OOP.
