Enlighten me on this Kiss Goodnight please

I posted on a previous thread about the Kiss Goodnight. I watched that video and it was beautiful. I did NOT know about this! Is the name Kiss Goodnight a kind of metaphor? I didn't "See" anyone kissing in front of the castle. I expected Minnie and Mickey in lights or something, I don't know.

Also, I thought when closing time came, you HAD to leave THEN. I didn't know you could sit and relax and wait! I really thought CM'S scooted you out! Where have I been????

The kiss goodnight is soooo cool!!! And no they don't scoot you out right away. Main St is open 1 hour later than the rest of the park, so there are always people shopping!!

P.s. I worked on Main St and got to watch it EVERY NIGHT!! I have the words written down somewhere. Usually hapens when Main St is closing.

All I know is after watching the video and having my eyes fill up with tears, I'm definately staying to watch this! I think that the first day we're there, which just so happens to be this Saturday!!!, we'll all watch SpectroMagic, Wishes, and walk around Main St. until it's time for the Kiss Goodnight. I said it before, I gotta remember to wear waterproof mascara that day!

It's like a goodbye and goodnight message. Says sweet stuff about a magical day and Mickey says goodnight too....then when you walk out of the park, Mickey is usually standing on the Train Station outside waving and saying bye too.

What exactly is "the kiss goodnight?" Is it Mickey and Minnie kissing in front of the castle? A recording of some sort? Please enlighten me--I want to be in the know!!

I'll reply back to some of you! I watched a personal video shot by a lucky family and it showed the castle in pretty shade of blue just kind of "glistening" if you will, and it started playing music softly. Then the voice comes uo and talks about how they have enjoyed having you as a guest and how magical the MK is and some other stuff. ALl the while the music is getting a little bit louder( but still soft) the castle changes colors, minnie and mickey's voices come out and wish you a goodnight, the castle turns all colors at once it looks like, the music peaks, you will probably be crying, then it goes dark. I WILL see this in person!

I only watched a couple seconds then turned it off, I want to see it in person. The few seconds I did watch gave me chills. So you basically need to be in the MK until closing, right?

Do you need to be right in front of the castle to see/hear it? And if the park closes at 10:00, then wait around until 10:00 and that's when it will happen?

I couldn't hear it at the Contemporary but I could see it.

It happens an hour after park closing.

We've actually been in the MK twice when the "Kiss" was going on and I still haven't seen it. The first time was in 1999 with my brother's family and we were walking out at the time. The second was last May at the end of the DVC Member Homecoming. I've heard the words and music both times, but never stopped to watch. I can't believe it!!!


Next time we go I'm going to see it for sure.

Now remember, it is an hour after closing, so about half an hour after Wishes. We usually spend that half hour taking pictures of the castle as the crowds thin out!

Is tinkerbell involved in some way? I've heard she comes out on a guide wird from the right side of the castle at the top. Last time we were there, we watched and watched but never saw her. Can anyone confirm / explain this?

No, Tinkerbell is part of the Wishes fireworks.

At the beginning of the fireworks. She comes down from the top of the Castle and the best spots to see her would be in front of the castle and especially to the right toward Tomorrowland.

I have been there ... some years ago.. when Mickey and Minnie had a conversation as part of the "kiss goodnight".. and Mickey says something along the lines of "goodnight Minnie" and then makes a kissing sound" and Minnie giggles a lot!

Maybe thats what used to happen....
