Did anyone out here enjoy watching the Christmas Parade taping? I have been trying to research since we are trying to be in the DVC members section on Friday December 1st.

Many of the things I have been reading say how HORRIBLE and BORING it was and that they would never do it again.

Was it really that bad?? Is it something that would be interesting to see and fun to say you did it once, but just not every year?

Thanks to anyone out there with some insight :)

Well, it was fun to wave at Regis and Kelly, and I thought it would be fun to watch the parade, since we had a front-row seat.....but then the camera and light techs stood right in front of us, and we could see nothing. The parade had a lot of stops for taping purposes.

We didn't have fun and wouldn't do it again....but maybe my family was just unlucky. If you can get up front and end up on ABC Christmas morning, that is pretty cool.

Thanks for the input!!

Being on tv Christmas morning in the Disney Christmas Parade would be pretty cool. There are four of us in my group that would be there and no kids, so I am thinking it might be easier to stand around that long. I would imaging young children wouldnt have much patientce for standing around that long. But, it seems like half of one of our precious disney days will be lost to standing and waiting.....

Either way I guess I should just be thankful we get to spend a week at Disney durning the holiday celebration.

Thanks Again :)

I'm going to be there for dec.1st too and was hoping to catch the taping, but after reading everything other people said I don't know if I would want to be there either. I'm still debating....

I know!! It sounds a little scary!! But, I think maybe it will be one of those once in a lifetime kinda of things that I would regret missing. Who knows when I would ever be back at that exact time to do it again??

I guess it will be one of those things where you are dying when you are doing it, but make for great memories and stories :) I'm hoping anyway!! lol...

Hope you have a GREAT trip!! I'm so excited to get there....the weeks just wont fly by quick enough

I enjoyed watching the taping of some of the shows on the stage in front of the castle. I think it was 2 years ago and got to hear Wynona Judd. My DD and niece decided to be in the taping of the parade and after waiting a few hours they got tired of it and felt like they were missing out on what the rest of us were doing so they left before they got on camera.

I am glad that I did it but it is a lot of standing and waiting. They make it sound like they may catch a glimpse of you but not many people actually get shown compared to how many are there watching.

It wasn't exciting but was nice to do it once. If you are there for a couple of hours you may only see a float or two.

We will be at MK on Dec 2...I made ADR's for 6:20 at Liberty Tree Tavern before I knew about the taping, and our plane doesn't get in till noon so we won't get there till around 2 pm...and we are looking for ways to avoid it. Hoping to be able to get to the train so we can ride to another part of the park and avoid Main Street like the plague!

DW and I were at MK early 2 years ago and stayed right up front where Regis and Kelly do the broadcast from. It was allot of standing and waiting, the taping was long, starting and stopping. We did get to talk to Regis and Kelly, she noticed my Mickey and Minnie tatoos and came over to check them out, wanted to know if there were real. I did get filmed and was on the showing of the Christmas parade on TV. Was very lucky and that probably would never happen again. We hung up front for about 3 hours, that was worse than walking those three house in the park. After that we made our way back into the MK to get away from the crowds up front. We did it once, probably would not do it again. We arrive in Disney Dec. 3, taping will be over.
