ok, I am A self admitted ridiculous eater. I eat like a child. Burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, steak. How will I do on an abd? Will I be miserable?

I can't speak as to the flexibility of the ABD portion, but in general you can find a burger/pizza just about anywhere. I would say slightly more difficult in France. Part of the "adventure" is the food -I would suggest making an attempt to step outside your comfort zone ...you may be surprised what you like. I'm not the most adventurous eater, but escargot is pretty darn good. Nothing a glass of wine can't fix.

You could be miserable. Or you could look at it as part of the adventure. Its an opportunity to try new things. Go with the flow.

ABD generally have "kid friendly" selections for the children, so maybe if you ask them, they can make sure you can get the Child's menu?

You can ALWAYS order from the children's menu, which usually has a plain chicken (most of the time chicken tenders) pizza, or pasta. Even the pickiest eater can find something. Don't worry. You will not go hungry!

Just let ABD or your travel agent know of your wishes.

We have traveled with seriously picky eaters and there is "Americanized" food almost everywhere.

While in Venice...a couple of our folks went to the Hardrock Cafe. It made me sad...but they needed a burger fix and refillable sodas.

There is the option of McDonalds -but the thought of eating chain food while spending thousands of dollars on a vacation in Europe (or the US for that matter)is just something that's not appetizing to me. It would have to be the last place open....

But that's me, and if you go to Rome and find a nice romantic restaurant in the Piazza della Rotunda overlooking the Pantheon, a 2,000 year old architectural masterpiece, you look to your left or right and will see many people eating at McD's ...so you won't be alone!
