Ok, so i met this girl last year on the Oct. Magic cruise, we have kept in contact and visited a few times, well i was thinking about proposing to her on this Oct. trip. Any suggestions??

I got engaged and married after knowing my ex-husband for a short time. Be careful. The divorce process is very messy. Be sure to spend as much quality time together before making that leap. A long distance relationship can be very tricky once put in the same town/city.

Good luck!!! Glad to see there are still some romantic guys out there! I am sure you will get lots of suggestions from this board

Suggestions as to where to propose??

Depends on the girl, but if it were me I'd love to be pampered for the day (arrange a special spa treatment if she likes that kind of thing) arrange for flowers to be delivered to her, set up ressies at Palo and let them know what you are going to do. I'm sure they would do extra special things for your table.

OR

You can propose at Castaway Cay....theres not much more beautiful than a deserted stretch of the adult beach (Serenity Bay) covered with white sand to get down on one knee and ask her for her hand in marriage. You can probably arrange for a special lunch to be served as well.

Best wishes to you and good luck

Hugs,

RonnieJo :flower: :mickeybar

While I agree that you should be really, really sure, only you can know that.... so, with that said, my suggestion would be ... no matter where you do it, see if you can have one of the ships photographers close by to get some "live action" shots! I know there was a photographer both at Palo, and Castaway Cay. That will be one moment you will want to have photos of. Good luck! Hope everything goes just as you plan!

I agree about the being sure thing. Don't get me wrong, we have had our tiffs but in the long run it works out. The main thing is the distance and getting over not seeing the person you want to be with on a daily or even weekly basis. We are about 8 states away from each other so the trips are few and far between. I will have to keep these thoughts in mind. I didn't know if maybe they would do something on the bow of the ship.

Maybe arrange for the Captain to be involved or make an announcement. Also have the room covered in red rose petals for when you return.

Good luck with your proposal.....the bow of the ship is where the crew pool is located so I doubt that would be a good place to propose....our friend proposed to his finance on the Secret Deck Aft on Deck 7 and he had Mickey there (at $350.00 per half hour) and the ship's photographer....also had arranged to have roses and champagne handy after she said yes!!!

mmouse37 "our friend proposed to his finance on the Secret Deck Aft on Deck 7"...i am assuming you mean fiance...but is it just me or is it a coincidence that the words are 1 letter off?? I know where that is, i had found it on the cruise last october, i was a newbie...but definitely found much that mickey had to offer on the cruise. Shhh, even went to the staff's quarters.

Wow, 350/half hour?? Wonder if they charge by the minute....ok sweetie gotta hurry this up...haha.

It's nice to see that romance isn't as dead as I thought it was.....

Must have been a Freudian slip.....fiance = plenty of finance!!!!

Ahhh the memories of a Disney Magic proposal.... I came out of the bathroom and he was standing in front of the safe in the stateroom. He handed me a little blue box and said "So, you wanna wear it?"...You should have seen me, first confused, but then opened the box saw the ring and replied "OH YEAH!"...That's my guy...Mr. Romantical!

Ahhhh, we met in September, engaged in December, and married in June. I lived in St. Louis, he lived in Philadelphia. Saw each other about once a month for a few days after we got engaged. We celebrated our 30th anniversary on tuesday, June 14th!!! :cheer2:

So the general consensus is that disney does create magic, to be safe and sure it is what i want to do, and to know that she will say yes. Do it maybe under to moon and stars on deck 7, have the photographer there and roses on the bed when i get back. See, us guys don't have to know what to do, we can just ask other women, then it makes us look romantic. It is still 5 months off so that is plenty of time to decide.

I just hope she doesn't join the DIS boards in the next 5 months or it ay ruin your surprise! good luck.

Well lets just say she knows me as another name on here. I had to create this name so she wouldn't think anything.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: At least you had a better setting than I did. We were walking behind our neighborhood where they were clearing land for houses...a total mudpit after it rained. We were discussing what to do with the money he was finally awarded for our move here and he said that he had thought about using some of it to buy an engagement ring.

How about a treasure hunt on the day you are to propose? You can start off the morning with a note at breakfast (with a small gift would add a nice touch :goodvibes ).... which sends her to the next location. Depending if it's a day at sea or at port....you could send her to the gift shop to pick up the pre-arranged gift with yet another card/clue to the next stop.... (possibly at the spa, where she could receive a treatment or two??) Pampering will earn you many kudos  Then maybe lunch in the dining room, and the waiter just happens to bring a romantic card and luscious dessert with the next clue.... Your possibilities are endless :teeth: You could even do a treasure hunt on Castaway Cay! My dh did this sort of thing for me a couple years ago (although it wasn't a proposal at the end, as we were already married) and it meant SO much to me. He started the day off with a note by my coffee pot that said I had a massage at 10am scheduled that am at a spa nearby. After my massage, he had a card in my car, with an address to my next clue....It was a Florist, with a dozen red roses waiting for me. The card on that, led me to the mall...Victoria Secret! It said to ask the sales clerk for a package with my name. Ok.....by that point, I figured it might be some slinky lingerie :rolleyes1 Nope....it was just a package with my favorite cologne/lotion, with the card to the next clue. I went back to my car, to find a note with directions and an address......it was a hotel on the beach. He was waiting there (dressed :rotfl2: ) with champagne waiting :love2: The time he spent thinking/planning this whole thing out meant the world to me. He continues to do this sort of thing every few months, and his ideas never fail to amaze me :cloud9: Best of luck to you...please keep us posted on what you are going to do, and ultimately....how it turns out! :bride:
