Engagement rings...

My ring on my slightly sunburnt hand, just after we got engaged:

It was exactly what I wanted and I love it :) It's a princess-cut, with smaller channel set princess-cut diamonds.

Thanks for all the photos!! I don't think I've seen one that I don't like! :rotfl: They're all very pretty! I had a look at some tanzanite ones this morning, I found them online and looked at them instore. I didn't like the one I'd picked out when I saw it in person so I'm going to a different jewellers after work tonight to have a look.

Thanks again for all your pics, it's really helping me out! :flower3:

Good Luck with your search! And if you end up wanting to get a diamond it doesn't have to be the same as your first ring. As all of us have showed you there are so many different sizes and settings and stone shapes that I'm sure you will find something different than the first that you absolutely love! Good luck! :goodvibes

Bored at work...

Tanzanite is a hydrous Calcium-Aluminum Silicate with a hardness of 6.5 on the Mohs scale.

This means that Tanzanite's hardness is similar to emerald but a bit less brittle and should be cared for. It is not as hard as diamond which rates as 10 or sapphire which rates as 9 on the Mohs scale but harder than steel which rates about 4-5. Therefore Tanzanite should not be worn during activities that may cause impact. Ideally it is set as a necklace, dress ring, earrings or occasionally a bracelet.

I think that is a really good point! I was married once before and I am definitely looking for a diamond...but VERY different than the first time around. There are sooo many choices!

I am going to be completely honest.... I didnt want a diamond either...I wanted something "different" and so, Although Vin couldn't bare to not get me a diamond, he did gget somethign I think is rather different...

This is with the wedding band, that i wanted to be COMPLETELY different as well... I actually now am more in love with it because of how different it is... the sides are beautiful as well not sure if you can see it quite well...

Have you ever checked out bluenile.com?

OMG CoP Luv that is amazing...Where did he get it!!?!?

We got it in Chicago at a jeweler called Dimend Scaasi, but he bought it when he was in OH. This jeweler is AMAZING! DH would sit in his office in OH and log online with the jeweler and they would have video conferences over the computer and that's how he picked out the diamond.

Here's mine. I thought I wanted something clean and modern... Then fell in love with an art deco antique style with a lot of hand done detailing. Now I always suggest to my friends that they go out and try rings on! The idea in your head of what you'll love may not be what you actually love.

oh oh! I wanna play!

I hate diamonds! They are clear, common, boring, and over priced.
But I looove green.

So DF went with an emerald. One of the jewelry shops by us does not carry emeralds because they said they are too soft and don't hold up :confused3
I've only had it a month, but seams pretty good so far! :rotfl:

I often wish I'd got an Emerald ring.... But I could never find them set with white gold and I personally don't like yellow gold.... :sad2: I love my engagement ring, but I'm a bit sad it's not green as I looooooooooooooooooooooove green!

your rings are all amazing!
I went with a white and rose gold puzzle ring with rubies as side stones and a dimond as the centerstone.
The first ring he bought me was a four gold puzzle ring from the same goldsmith with a ruby like the side stones, so its special to me.

LOVE your ring! Be very careful with it, I had my claddagh ring with an emerald and two years later I had to get it re buffed and then another year later again. The jewler said to take it off when showering/household chores...hope that helps!

I actually don't like yellow gold either :sad2:
DF didn't realize it was yellow gold until he got home! I think it is because if he only saw it in the box, the diamonds on either side make it look like white gold. oh well. I was a little diappointed when I first saw it, but it's grown on me. And DF got such a great deal on it because the store was going out of business that he said we can upgrade it in a few years.

Now the tough part is finding a wedding ring, because I don't want yellow gold!

Thanks! I already do take it off at night and don't put it on until after I shower and I usually take off all jewelry when I clean, but I'll try to be extra careful! Guess I shouldn't have worn it just now when I did dishes :rolleyes1

spacerangerqueen - I loooove the emeralds!!!!

If it helps, I have sosme family jewellery that is yellow gold, and my jeweller said I could get it plated white and it wouldn't cost loads. :) White gold is only yeloow gold that's been plated anyhow.

Beautiful stones though!! I looove it!

Tink Kel, the flowers on yours are amazing!!! Is it an antique ring? It's looks like it could be from a magical time in the past!!

Both gorgeous!
