Checked into Wilderness Lodge yesterday for a 4 night stay in a Copper Creek Cabin. Due to an air conditioner issue they couldn’t give us our room and we ended up in a 1br at Boulder Ridge. They refunded the difference in points to our account but they are in holding. Do you think member services will be understanding that it was their issue and allow us to bank them or use them outside of the 60 day window? Didn’t have time to call today but will try tomorrow. I am understanding but really disappointed by this whole situation

Yes MS will indeed take them out of holding for you. You may need to call but it will get fixed.

We had this happen when the front desk messed with our reservation and it took about a week but the holding status was removed.

Yes they should help. We were bumped from a TPV grand villa at BLT to a grand villa at Wilderness Lodge 2 weeks ago and they did the same thing. Points went into holding. I called and explained and they moved them back to 2025.

They should remove your points from holding status. The Home Resort Rules and Regulations provide that the holding rule applies if the member cancels the reservation. It does not apply if DVC cancels (or changes) the reservation.

The hotel front desks don't have any "real" access to your DVC membership like MS has (which has its plusses and minuses). When they credit points back to your account, it's just the same as you cancelling a trip with in the 31-day window, so they go into holding. You just need to reach out to MS, explain why the points are in holding, and have them take them out and move them back into the UY.
