End of The Holiday Road

Jamie, the day I was switching all the stuff from our Tailgator to our new camper I thought about our 1st fort trip and all the 4 wheeling trips to Ocala Nat'l Forest. Even though the thing doesn't have a brain you hate driving away from it knowing all the enjoyment it provided you. I still wish we had put in an electric bed instead of the pull down we disliked and called it good.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone, and the smart a$$ ones too. :lmao: No diesel for this guy....I got used to the Ford V10 in my Winnie and really like the engine, so wanted the same basic powertrain in my van. Of course, it's a thirsty bugger, but oh well. Gas prices will never go up again, right? :rotfl2:

I just got done emptying the motorhome of all our stuff, bringing some into the house to put away and boxing or bagging other things up and putting in the attic. It will all be there when we get our next RV. Next weekend I'll get the MH all cleaned up for the next family, and that'll be it. I've kinda reached a point now where I'm feeling detached from it. Time to move on.

.

Don't feel too bad. The only trip we've done so far with the F350's 6.4L got us a whoppin' 7.8 mpg.

They do all this stuff to improve the environment which causes us to burn twice as much fuel.:confused3

Sorry to hear that you are giving up your MH. I agree with your reasoning though. Keep looking forward to the future. It will be there in a wink!

Dave-

I am sorry to hear that you will be temporarily without a camping unit.

But, it sounds like you have great things planned, and many blessings, good times, and new memories are sure to come your way.

I hope you enjoy this chapter in your family's history.

But, I especially hope to see y'all back at the Fort soon.

TCD

Dave, it's hard to give up the MH, we have done it a few times. But your reasons are wonderful. We left rv'ing for 15 years and came back to it. Just think about the memories you have and new ones being made.
See you at the Fort real sooooooooon!
Good luck.

You are so lucky to have such a wonderful family and beginning this new part of your lives together - what lucky little girls! I always say that all good girls are Daddy's girls... Good luck on your adoption journey!

I'm sure it will be hard to say goodbye, but before you know it you will be ready for a TT!

Oh, and I think you should def paint some flames on the side of that van...;)

Dave, Lance and I are gonna come take you and your family for a spin in our boat this weekend buddy.:rotfl2: We'll have to take turns as it only sits 4 average size people. We've had it over 7 months and only used it twice and could have bought a nice used popup or hybrid for what it cost us and got a lot more use out of either of those. Oh sorry, this reply was supposed to be about you.

You're doing the right thing - you know that already. And since you've done this before, with different reasons, you know it'll be fine and new memories will be made in a new camper with the best part - a precious, new addition to your family.

But until then, you are welcomed to use our boat anytime you'd like.;)

I think you should store the boat here in sunny Florida. I think I could make room and store it for free.

OK, Donnie, you are having a hard enough time getting the 5ver and a golf cart somewhere. So how you gonna get the 5ver, golf cart, AND a boat somewhere :-);):lmao:

He had a hard enough time with his jetskis this weekend. Don't send any boats his way.:rotfl2:

Maybe he can take the tires off of the golf cart, put it on top of the boat, back the 5er into the water and ride the boat in the 5er. Oh wait I forgot he can't stay on the boat. So if he puts the boat on top of the golf cart, takes the top of 5er off so he can drive the boat in on the golf cart !!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I can picture it now. Donnie is trying to get Liv's boat up on a swivel wheel, and the wheel swivels around hard and hits Jen, who then drops her cell phone into the water.

Why does this not seem that far fetched? :confused3

I now have a watertight box that the phone goes in. I am happy to say that since the phone saw Donnie last time, it jumped down the ramp into the water during Spring Break. Now, it is safely tucked away in a watertight box so it can behave during water excursions!:rotfl2:

Donnie's sunglasses did not fair so well as Lorna said. They are at the bottom of Crystal River.:cool2:

Isn't there a saying about fact being stranger than fiction...or something like that. Regardless, your described scenario seems very possible.

Jen's phone is safe. It's Donnie's sunglasses that aren't !!!

Is this why the latest pic I saw of Donnie is without sunglasses?!?!?
