Ok.... we are all booked for December and now I am thinking of changing it back to either the end of September or end of October. I know Christmas at Disney is wonderful and fantastic but.... sadly to say we are switching from WL to POFQ and I really want Christmas to be spent at WL and I think POFQ would be more fun when the weather is warmer :sunny:

All that said would you go at the end of September to early October or would you go late October? I know it is ages away but I am worried about a hurricane running a late September trip.. what do you think and would you purchase travel insurance just in case if you went late September. Right when I though I had everything planned it all changes again

Thanks for any help/guidances

HI, We have been to WDW four times (3 of them being the last part of September -anywhere from the 16th-27th) and one of them being from Sept 26th - October 5th. With that being said, I would pick the mid/end of Sept as we saw a gradual increase in crowds as October neared (may have to do with MNSSHP and the food/wine festival). We have always had fantastic weather that time of year and the crowds have been really low. Sadly, this year we will be going mid August due as I just got a job at a school and I do not get any vacation days (other than summertime). Good luck....

not to derail but could you mention what the weather is like? is it any cooler early Oct vs mid Sept? and how much more crowded was it? like from sept walk on to oct 30. min wait or from sept 20 to oct 30 min waits.

We loved our trip in Oct. and we even had Hurricane Wilma pay us a visit while there. MNSSHP was alot of fun. And the food and wine festival was great.

We have been three times in late September and always had a very good time. It is still quite warm, can be in the 90's. One thing we did last time was to overlap into the first couple days of October and were able to go to MNSSHP.

I would not worry about Hurricanes, you cant plan for mother nature.

Hi again, to answer your questions. I don't think there is really any difference in the heat between mid Sept to early Oct. It is going to be in the high 80's to low 90's and humid. Our experience was in mid Sept the waits were normally walk on to 10min (of course some like TOT, RNR, Soarin were a bit longer- 30min). Our last visit in early Oct (2003) the waits were increased to more around 20min and up. We were told by the "bellhop" at POR that occupancy had went from 40% to 90% the last weekend we were there. The people just multiplied overnight. Again, we are spoiled by low Sept crowds and anything more than that just seems like alot. I'm trying to prepare myself for middle August this year!!!!
