We are first week of November people. We love the low crowds, the shorter hours and know that certain things will not be available (IASW). We can live with that.

My question is this - how do you think having Halloween mid week will affect crowds from Oct. 28 through Nov. 3? We don't really want to go the next week because of Election day and Veterans Day (wknd) but will consider it if the crowds will be low. Nov. 4-10th are our other options.

We've been in Oct. before - when the Halloween parties were at DCA and we went over Fall Break so it was busy. How are crowds right around Halloween at the Parks during the day? I figure the Halloween Party will be fairly busy, but want to know about DL crowd predictions.

TIA :)

It will probably be low crowds midweek except for Wednesday afternoon when the party crowds come in, the evening very busy like any party night.

We need this info. also. We have to move our driving trip from April/May to Oct/Nov. and I am trying to plan multiple stops/tours and then DL around the holidays (Halloween and Veteran's Day). Not sure if some tours or shows are shut down on Halloween. And we aren't interested in the Halloween party.

If it's just the Wed. of Halloween only that is really busy, I was thinking we can avoid DL (go to DCA maybe or a matinee of Cirque's Iris if playing??) and get the advantage of doing the attractions in Oct. that will shut down in Nov. - then also get the advantage of the low crowds in early Nov. before Veterans' Day. We will probably do about 5 (could do 6 if need it) days at DLH - need to include one weekend to get the shows (F! and fireworks).

Any flaws to this plan?

Are Big Thunder or Indy going to be down during this time frame? I thought someone posted that.

I understand HM, SM and SW all shut down for awhile after Halloween to remove the Halloween overlays and then come back up. Except someone thought SW would be shut down for a refurb too - a longer shut down.

Can we get what we want by going end of Oct. - beginning of Nov.?

I was concerned that doing the entire trip in Oct. would be too busy at DL - it seems to be a popular month now. And there are so many days they block out for the Halloween parties now. It seems like the party is held about 3 nights a week for all of October.

Thanks!

HM keeps its overlay from September to January, so there is not downtime for that. The NBC overlay is a mix of Halloween spookiness into a Christmas Tale.

Space goes down but only for a day or two, it's very quick to get the ride going as normal.

Small World closes for a few week for it's Chrismas Overlay so it can be ready for the Holidays. This has meant it's closed the last week of October and this week a close on the 22nd or 29th is possible, depending if the Holidays can make the second weekend of November.

Veterans Day isn't until the 12th. It may be very busy, especially if it's the start of the Holidays. It can seem aweful in contrast to the weekdays around it because they are nearly dead.

The probable last party night on Halloween is probably a fine night to be in the parks. While Fridays are bad to goto DCA because, there are many more people in the parks on Friday evenings it gets crowded. On the weekday parties it was much less, not a problem, but the hours were short. This coming season, with Cars Land DCA will probably gain hours, and gain some crowds. Adding to the Friday problem, but possibly helping the weekdays with more to do in DCA with not as bad crowds.

Novermber is offseason, except for the one holiday Monday, all the way to Thanksgiving week. So there is commonly rehabs taking place in those 3 weeks.
