We went the day after Thanksgiving and had a great time. The weather was perfect for me. The day we arrived and left was warm and sunny . During the week the days were nice- 70 for a high. I wore a sweatshirt and would take it off in the sun. At night it was cool but I brought everyone's jackets and blankets so we were fine. We did Splash and got wet. The sun did dry my jeans even though I was ready to buy child sweatpants at the Splash shop. We managed to swim one day but I only went in the hot tub. I like it very warm when swimming. It rained twice, once in AK but we were in shelter near Dinosaur. Tuesday it rained and we changed our MGM day to Friday. We were planning in doing Universal that Friday but didn't want to spend a rainy day at MGM with three kids. It was cold at night during MVMCP but the cocoa hit the spot, the parade and snow were great. DH already wants to plan next year for the same time. So anyone wondering about this time of year I recommend it!

Amen to that....our family has decided the same thing. We use to go in May...went in July once (BIG MISTAKE)...and went the last two years the week leading up to Christmas. This is definetly our new time to go...like you said the weather was perfect and the crowds were low. Plus with all the Christmas stuff up it can't be beat. :wave2:

The weeks following Thanksgiving are the most unpredictable times of year in Florida. We went the year before last and while watching Wishes I had on a turtle neck, a pull over sweater, at button down sweat shirt and a light jacket. It was 42 degrees out. I packed layers and I am so glad I did. We had no swim days and I didn't even ware shorts the entire time. Most days required a sweatshirt. That being said, we left a blizzard up here and we were certainly glad to be there. My most favorite time is the first week in November. I also like the last week in September.

Thanks for the report! We usually go in mid-December, but we may have to change that due to DH’s work schedule. We’re considering the week after Thanksgiving next year. Glad to hear it’s a good time to go!

We arrived the day after Thanksgiving and stayed for 8 nights and it was GREAT! The first few days were really warm and we all swam and wore shorts and short sleeve shirts. Only the last few days (30th, 1st and 2nd) seemed cool to me. The only time we wore jackets was on the 1st and 2nd. Great time to go and we walked on to most every ride and some we didnt even have to get off of (Thunder and Splash) because no one was waiting to board- we just stayed on and rode again!! We loved this week!

Wow- sounds like you had a great trip :cool1: ! Wish we could go after T'giving- DH is in retail mgmt, and so that time of year is out for us. It does sound great, though- I am not really into swimmimg during vacations, and I like cooler weather. Maybe DD and I will have to do a "girls only" trip sometime!

We have found that for us, the best time to go is the end of October/beginning of November- still pretty warm, but low crowds. We miss the Christmas decorations, but get to do the MNSSHP instead.

How is it the week leading up to Christmas? We usually go the first week but had to make it later this year due to DD schedule. I'm kindof leary about the crowds - are they really bad? (Thanks!)

We’ve been around this time period for several years. In our experience, the crowds have begun to build around the 21st. The date the crowds really begin to build depends on the day of the week that Christmas falls on though. We find that it’s pretty un-crowded up until about 3-4 days before Christmas. This is based on going around that time in 2000, 2001, and 2003. We’ll be doing it again this year, and we’re hoping the crowds stay light until the 21st. Once the crowds do start to build, it is really crowded from what I understand.

We didn't go to any park on the Saturday after Thanksgiving We went to Epcot on Sunday and it was crowded, I thought. Lots of people walking around, a wait for Crush, a packed Land pavilion. We didn't make our FP time for Soarin and when I saw the line at the Land, we just skipped it.We didn;t do much f the attractions in Epcot that day. Just Turtle Talk, Innoventions and the World Showcase.

Thanks, we'll be gone by the 21st so maybe we'll miss the worst of it!!
