Give it to me honestly ... how are the crowds at the end of May ...
We are consitering moving our trip from Spring Break (March 31-April 10) to the start of summer vacation (May 26-June 5.)
We would save ALOT on airfair and some on the room but we are afraid of the crowds and weather during that time
Any information would be GREAT ..
Thanks,
Bronte

If you do a search in trip reports, you can find some first-hand accounts. I believe that I read that crowds were low at the end of May which makes sense because a lot of schools actually go into June now.

This is one of our favorite times to go.

We are usually there for the week before Memorial day and leave a day or two after Memorial Day.

We have never had an issue with crowds or the weather.(though there is a first time for everything). I would say the longest wait in a line for one of the most popular rides is about 20mins. Rain is minimal, maybe a quick storm here and there. It can get quite hot sometimes, but overall it is very pleasant, until Mem. Day weekend.

Then, we notice a BIG difference in crowds going into Mem. Day weekend. The crowds definitely pick up on Saturday, and by Sunday, well, they can get pretty bad. But for us, we are closing in on the end of our trip, so we have usually done everything at least once and will spend a lot of time at the resort pool. When we do go back to the parks during this weekend, we expect crowds and long waits, so we just try to make it a nice casual visit.

I hope this helps.

We went the week before Memorial Day in 2003 and in 2004. 2003 was awesome; hardly any lines, no huge crowds, perfect. Memorial Day was also early that year, Monday the 26th, so schools that go to the end of the month were still in session so WDW was not as crowded.

2004 was horrible because Disney ran an excellent special for in state residents and the crowds were huge and unbearable many days (think mid-July type at MK). Memorial Day was also later that year, May 31st, so those schools who go to the end of the month were all out and at WDW, too. To kind of give you an idea, POR was totally sold out for the week.

We decided we'd never go again in May if Memorial Day falls "late" after the last trip.

We were there this May 28 - June 5. The crowds were very managable. I was worried with Memorial Day in there, but it was fine.

The weater was warm to hot. Hight 80's, low 90's. It rained almost everyday, which I was very thankful for actually. It kept that hot sun away! The kids even swam in the pool, they didn't mind the rain. It didn't keep us from doing the parks. Just keep the ponchos handy.

I think it's a good time to go. The northern schools haven't let out yet so you really beat a lot of the crowds.
