We will be on the Disney Magic cruise that sails out of NYC from Oct 27 to Nov 3, 2019. My wife just pointed out the fact that Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends at 2:00 a.m. on November 3rd, which is our disembarkation date.

Since the clocks "fall back" when you switch from DST to standard time, this means that at 2:00 a.m. EDT (Eastern Daylight Time), the time will immediately switch to 1:00 a.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time). I assume we will get to sleep in an extra hour on our disembarkation date? If so, that would be fantastic. :-)

You will get a notice to change your clocks and your room steward will change the clock in your stateroom at turndown.
This happened to us also. That was for DST change and also a time zone change on our Western Caribbean cruise.

We learned the hard way (missed an excursion), always, always, always go by "ship's time." You can call Guest Services and ask them about that anytime. When we first get aboard I've gotten into the habit of asking them on day 1 when any time changes will occur. We've had stateroom attendants forget to set the clock or leave the card before.

It is very important to know what time it is on the ship. We have on rare occasion been in port when they go by a different time, but again extremely rare.

We were on the fantasy in March when the time went forward an hour, plus we hopped time zones the same night. it was so confusing! I called the front desk the morning of the time change(s) because I couldn't figure out if my phone was right (it was, and had changed on its own) and asked what time it was. :lmao:

Those time zones, onboard we always keep ships time. We learned the hard way that phone time isn't always right. We end up arriving 1 hour early for breakfast (still closed). If in doubt, you can always call the front desk.
