I'll be at All Star Music Aug. 25 - 31st. I understand the water in the pool will be quite warm.

Can anyone elaborate on this? Would a morning swim (before breakfast) be refreshing? A night swim? Is early afternoon OK?

I agree
It is August in Florida. The sun and the general atmosphere are hot and it warms the pool water.
It will be like bath water all times of the day and night.
Only you know if that will refresh you or not

It will be warm. In August it is hot, the water is warm. I figure all I can ask is that the water be wet. I'm not sure if you will find it refreshing.

The temperature of water changes more slowly than the temperature of air. In Florida this time of year, the air is very hot most of the time. It is a bit cooler (not much) at night, but night is shorter than day in summer, so the water never gets a chance to drop temperature.

Outside of WDW throughout FL, some pools where people lap swim actually have chillers. My dad worked outside and came home drenched in sweat everyday. He would bring coolers full of ice each night to dump in our pool.

It has varied by resort for me. Poly's pool was cold last year. BC was refreshingly warm. Not too warm but it felt so good. We've done CBR in August also and the water was refreshing. Not too cold and not too warm.

I bet the BC was because that water is moving more, at least it seems so. I was hot at the Grand last year, but there was not one spot of shade over the pool.

After several late August trips staying at many of the resorts (at least 6 or more, we do split stays) , we swam most evenings and always found it more refreshing that the stifling heat. There's no time that I can think of that I found any pool too uncomfortable to be in. I would say at least 80% off our swims were after 7pm though.

Our usual WDW dates are late August and we find the pools refreshing. They are definitely on the warm side, but bath water is a very big exaggeration. It's not cold enough that your teeth will be chattering immediately after you jump in, but it's also not warm enough that it's not refereshing.

If you think the pool water is warm, you should go feel the water at the beach. Down here in S. Florida the water is over 90 degrees. The pools at disney are probably around 89 or so (that is what my pool is at and I do not have a screen enclosure).

The water will likely feel like bath water all day, every day.
You must take a way cooler bath than I do. Didn't feel warm to me at all during our trip at POR 2 weeks ago. We went every afternoon, when the day was it's hottest. It was not cold mind you but it was cool and very refreshing. Especially when you consider how hot it is outside. I feel like the hotter your skin is the cooler the water feels when you get in. I've never been in any pool at Disney that feel like a bath, not even close. But I don't want them so cold it takes your breath away when you jump in either. Our pool at home is like that and it's not fun at all.

Thanks for all the great replies.....I guess it is somewhat subjective! I'm one of those people who are almost always cold in pools (both indoor and outdoor), so I'm hoping that means I find the temperature of the pools just fine! At least I'll find out on arrival day - it's my first scheduled activity after having lunch!

Not contradicting the conventional wisdom, but I have never experienced this in Disney or other Orlando pools. I've always found them refreshing.

I am often cold in pools too and will not go in my own pool if it's under 82-and then I still get chilly. Since it's so hot in August, I still find the pools refreshing and relaxing. I can stay in forever and not feel cold - just a perfect temp.

No doubt. I was thinking the Poly pools were a bit warm at the end of July, then we left WDW for a few days on the Gulf (near Clearwater) and felt like I was newly walking into a hot tub! (Of course the Gulf cools the farther from the shore you go)

We must be related. We have a in ground pool and live in FL (an hr south of the world), I feel the pool is always to cold for me. I feel same about all Disney Resorts.
