End of Aug??

Any thoughts on going the last week of Aug. (21-28th)...we usually go in early July but will be at Disney's Hilton Head instead....actually wasn't planning on going again this year but we just can't resist WDW..

How is the heat? Crowds? Park hours......thanks

I went last year and expected it to be PACKED and was pleasantly surprised. I don't mind the heat so I can't really tell you about that. I thought we had low crowds. We went to MGM on early entry day and there was NO ONE there. It was awesome. I'm planning on going back there next year at the same time.

We were there in late Aug 2001. Let me just say it took my breath away but I don't do hot weather well anyway!!! But we had one of our best trips ever!! Go knowing it will probably be hot and work around it by going to the parks early and taking a break in the afternoon to return in the evening! The crowds were not a problem that I recall!

We were at WDW at the end of August 2000 - very hot and humid, but the crowds were quite reasonable - 20 minute ride wait max., but we used Fastpass to our advantage. One lifesaver was our foresight to bring those water bottle mist fans. A great way to cool off while walking around in the heat!

Overall, I think you will enjoy the end of Aug.!

Historically, the park hours are reduced in late Aug. compared to the rest of the summer. Also fewer Spectros, maybe only on Sat night. We are going 26th-Sept. 2 and can't wait!!

If I had to choose I would never go at this time of year again due to the heat. I must agree with the others as far as crowds though...not bad at all. When I say hot... I mean miserable! We must have spent half our budget on water....he he he!

I have been there 4 or 5 times in Aug. The later you go in the month the shorter the hours but the crowds are less until you get to Labor Day weekend then it is crazy again. The rain may be a problem but it's not that bad. The heat has not bothered me the last 2 years because when I got back to Jersey I found out that it was hotter in Jersey than it was in Florida. And we live by the shore so it is always humid here too.

Go and have a good time. It should be a great week.
