Flight prices killed off the plan of doing Early March.

How is the last week of april (after Easter weeks)or first week of May? I know in WDW its a good time to go.

I hope it's good because we are going then. I couldn't find any major events or schools out then. It's before the Tink marathon, and after dapper days. It's not Bats weekend. So we are going! Have fun!

Bat days is on the first weekend in May (5-7). We are going for my birthday, arriving the 7th and I remember seeing the dates on their site. I booked our room a while ago and have noticed that prices are rising fast for our week (7-12th).

We went in between Dapper days/Bat days and the tinkerbell (I think) race weekend this past early May and thought the crowds were manageable. We monitored wait times on our app and park hopped. We had small children with us, so we didn't do many of the big rides, but I don't think we waited more than 15-20 min for rides. It was a good time to go.

This can be a great time to go as far as crowds go. I think there are days where it truly is "off season." IT seems every year someone reports back that they had no crowds and limited waits on one or more of their days during those two weeks. But keep in mind that there are usually a TON of rides closed for refurb between Spring Break season and summer. I think Spring Breaks will be not too bad this year since Easter is later. It will help spread the crowds out over a couple months. But spring breaks should be over by the last week of April and first week of May.

What rides tend to close during that time?

This past year, in addition to all of the closures for Star Wars construction, Jungle Cruise, the Monorail, and Grizzly River Run were all down. Jungle Cruise was a full refurb, so that is probably not likely to go down for the same length of time soon. We were also in between the Frozen sing-along and the new Frozen Live show, so missed both of those.

I think it varies by years. It's not like the holiday seasons where you know which rides will be down, and it's not winter where you can guarantee one or two water rides will be closed. However, it seems like Indy gets closed often in the spring. Many rides will be down for a week or two here and there. As they open one they'll close another one or two. It's basic spring maintenance as they prepare for the busy summer where they try not to have closed rides. Also, keep in mind that the River and train will still be closed as they're supposed to open in summer. I'm hoping summer means Memorial Day weekend (it often does), but we'll all have to wait and see.

As long as cars land and things that are different from WDW are open I am happy. With two little kids we want to avoid crowds adn go to WDW 2-3 times a year so things that are the same aren't a big deal, neither is grizzly river run

RSR hasn't gone down for a refurb yet, but hopefully it doesn't need one yet. It will be sad for those visitors when the day comes, because eventually it will have to have some love and care. Luigi's ride is new and shouldn't need a refurb yet either. Mater's has issues with the floors (I think) and has had maintenance a few times. It seems they close one side of Mater's and keep the other open. So hopefully all of Carsland will be open for you to explore.

Why don't you want to ride Grizzly? It is not the same as Kali Rapids; it's WAY better.

Oh we have done it and love it, but its not a must do so its not one that would bother me if it was down. I agree it is way better :)
