Does anyone have personal experience of these suites?

They look to me to be reasonably priced, and we are looking to spend one of our weeks in a central, self-catering property.

However, I've heard that they are a bit "shabby" (I think that was the term used!)- although this was some time ago and they may have had a refurb since then. I've also noticed that they're always in the "bargain bin" with travel agencies and I'm wondering if there's a reason!

I'm hoping they're as nice as they look in the brochures.....

thanks in advance :)

Hi
Can't tell you what they are like just now but will be able to in about a week as we will be staying there. I will reply to your post when we get back-although I have enquired about the condition and have been told that all the suites have been refurbished.
Hope this will help

We stayed in the Enclave Suites a couple of years ago and they were Ok. The rooms were reasonably sized but we did have a few problems with the toilet and cupboards, both were fixed staright away. The pools are ok but can get a little crowded. The location is great for shops and restaurants as it is just of I-drive. If you get one of the rooms overlooking the funfair don't worry as you can't here the noise. Unless they have changed a lot you will have a great time.

Wow that’s brought back some great memories.

We stared at ES on our very first visit to Orlando way back in 1992 and had a real blast there; however things could have been a total disaster!!!!

We left the booking to a friend who booked a "Studio" apartment for 2 couples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we entered our room after the long flight we was greeted by a large pull down bed and a well furnished room, the bathroom was also of good standard. Our only problem was that we could not find the door to "The Bedroom"

At the same time all four of us looked at the sofa for what seamed like ages.............................and yes you guessed it................it tuned into a bed.

So for 2 whole LONG weeks 2 couples all aged 22................did go back to their childhood in more ways than one.

We still laugh about it now :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: and when our friend who booked the "Studio" messes up in any way we all remind him of the meaning of a studio apartment!!

In short great apartments.....Fantastic location.............just not good for couples sharing.

Hope this helps.

Anyone got any uptodate information, good or bad on the Emclave suites.

Hi,
We are just back from the Enclave suites (Friday 5th march). I'm not sure what to write about this hotel as we were kinda disappointed in it- it has everything in it that the brocure states but it is rather shabby and run down. The first suite we were allocated had a musty smell about it, the air-conditioning didn't work, doors were hanging off the kitchen cupboards, half the crockery was missing and we were unable to open the windows. We were allocated another suite which had a fresh clean smell , had an extra t.v. and most of the crockery that was supposed to be there was ( and what wasn't we brought from the other suite!!). It was still kinda worn looking but decided it was better than the first one we had been allocated. The breakfast consisted of a small carton of fresh orange,a muffin and a piece of fruit-not very exciting and by the end of the first week we stopped going for it as we had a collection of fruit, orange juice and muffins in the bottom of the fridge!!They do serve a hot buffet breakfast in the pizza place which we didn't try as I'm afraid it didn't look too appetising. We had four adults and two kids in a two-bedroomed suite and it was too small for this-although states it sleeps six, there was only four dining chairs and a small table for meals. The living area only had one settee in it so we couldn't all sit down together The bathrooms are ensuites in the bedrooms and whoever slept in the living area had to use these during the night- which isn't very convenient. The suite wasn't our only complaint about the place - they were busy painting the indoor pool while we were there, only one lift worked, the outside security door was broken, one outdoor pool was freezing, the complimentarytransportation only ran a couple of times a day so we ended up using taxi's most days. All in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you want a 3*+ hotel as I feel a 2* would be more appropriate for this property. However nothing about this spolit our holiday and if you get a good price for the hotel and are prepared for it being a bit shoddy -which we weren't, it is o.k. We stayed in block 3 although we didn't look in the other blocks to see if they were any better. As I said we had a great holiday but we wouldn't stay there again. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Linda

A great site for finding up to date reports by 'normal folk' is
www.holidays-uncovered.co.uk :sunny: this is a fantastic site just click on florida/orlando and scroll down to find the resort accomadation very up to date :flower:

Thanks for the write up Linda. We booked this hotel not expecting 5*but basic, clean accomodation. We are not bothered about the breakfast or transport but it will have to be clean. Did you book independantly or through a tour operator and if it was through a tour operator did you speak to them about your rooms. We are going with direct holidays in May and have a studio for 2 adults and two children 10 & 7 and I don't know if I should ring up and ask about the state of the accomodation. I checked out the holidays-uncovered website at suggested by Sharon and the reviews go from very poor to excellent. Do you think it goes on luck if you get a good room or not?

Hi Laudan 14
I'm not sure if it is luck of the draw which type of accomadation you get. I checked the review site that was recommended by another member for "normal" reviews and found most of them to be pretty accurate. It is shabby but clean, the staff were friendly and when we spoke to reception about our first room they didn't hesitate in allocating us another room ( even although I didn't ask for it). This was our third visit to orlando and in comparrison to the hotels we had stayed in previously it just wasn't of the same standard(Wyndham, Hilton, Hawthorne suites). I think if you have not been before, have nothing to compare it to and don't expect too high standards you will still have a great hol. The kids will like the indoor pool that is open 24hrs-it is small, warm and usually quiet. I hope I haven't put you off your hol and as I said before feel free to ask any questions.
Linda
p.s. I have some photos of the room and will post them as soon as i can.
p.p.s We booked through a company called holiday bookers

Thanks again for info, look forward to the photos. Unfortunatly we have been a few times before so we can compare. Last time we were there was 2002 and stopped at the Ramada suites down near Sea World, they were very nice but a bit out of the way. We will just have to wait and see........

Thanks Linda and everyone else who replied- thats just the sort of detail I wanted!

Still haven't made a decision though......!

Hi Linda
Thanks for taking the time to post you comments about the enclave suites.

This will be our 3rd trip to Orlando but our first time staying of site in the past we have stayed at Disney’s BWI and the contemporary.
This time we are doing 21 days ½ at the enclave suites the rest at the BWI (we just love the BWI)

I booked a 2 bedroom suite for July 2005 about 3 months ago and like a lot of people I am concerned about what the enclave suites will actually be like. We liked the idea that the enclave suites are close to Universal as we intend doing more than just Disney this trip as we are going to be using a car for the first time.

I would be very grateful if you would please email me or post on the web some wear all the photos you have of the enclave suites.

Also do you have any tips when staying at the enclave suites like building 2 is closer to the best pool that sort of thing or something that might be worth knowing before we go

All the best
David

Im looking at this thread with interest as my in-laws are staying here in September. Thanksfor the info so far.
