'Tarzan' Man 'Enchanted' at Disney

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com)- After flirtatious with a number of A-list directors, Walt Disney Pictures is entrusting Kevin Lima with the live-action/CGI fairy tale "Enchanted."

Lima, who made big bucks for Disney with "Tarzan" and not-so-big-bucks for the company with "102 Dalmatians," is in place to direct the project, which begins in an animated fairy tale world, where a lower caste woman falls in love with a handsome prince and is somehow sent to the live-action world of New York City by the kingdom's evil queen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Turtletaub ("National Treasure") and Adam Shankman ("The Pacifier") were attached to the project at various points. Bill Kelly ("Blast from the Past") wrote the original script, as well as the latest draft.

Before co-directing 1999's "Tarzan," Lima had an extensive background in Disney animation, including character work on "Oliver & Company" and "The Little Mermaid" and a directing stint on "A Goofy Movie." His most recent credits are the ABC telefilms "Eloise at the Plaza" and "Eloise at Christmastime."
