Wonderful movie!!! I highly recommend it. My son and I got free sneak preview tickets to see it last night and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. There were a lot of dads in the theatre too and they were laughing as much as I was. In fact, the majority of the humor is clean adult - the sight gags are for the kids.

I loooved Pip - his pantomining is hysterical. I didn't realize that Susan Sarandon was the evil stepmother until I saw the movie last night and I thought she was great. And there is plenty of eye candy for both men and women - gotta love Patrick Dempsey~ and Giselle is adorably sappy sweet. This is a movie I would go see again.

Anyone else see it yet?

I saw the trailer over the summer when I went to see Pirates and it looked hysterical. I will definitely be "borrowing" my nieces for a movie night this weekend.

I was thinking of going - thanks for the review. My DS's are 3 and 6 - do you think they are too young?

bump

anyone have an idea as to "age appropriateness" ? DD is 4 and can't wait to see it

I think that the younger kids would like it too. My son is 7 and loved it. There are a couple of small parts that would be over their heads but it was completely over my son's head but he didn't ask about it either.

It is rated PG for mild innuendo and some scary images. If they can handle Snow White's scary old hag or Millificent as the dragon they can handle this and the innuendo will definitely be over their heads. I would say that it was very mild innuendo. I laughed at one part and my son looked at me because he didn't understand why I was laughing and then started laughing that fake loud laugh and the audience laughed at him!

I will say that the scary old hag when she is in the real world is pretty gross looking. She definitely needs a good dentist!

Have been to only one movie in the last year. Maybe we should get a babysitter more often.

I am glad you liked it I can't wait for it to come out. It looks cute and I love Dr. Mcdreamy so I am counting down the days till we get to see it.

We saw this yesterday and both my girls loved it. DD9 is completely taken with Pip, the chipmunk. DD3 sat still through almost the whole movie - unheard of for her! She thought the witch was a little scary, but refused to let me cover her eyes so she couldn't have been too scared. She really liked it and wants to watch it again and again. Unfortunately she doesn't yet understand that we have to wait and can't just put it on the tv!

I don't think there's anything inappropriate for younger kids, the storyline is simple enough for little ones to follow yet contains enough to keep older ones interested. Even my friend who is an adult male action/gangster-movie fan enjoyed the movie, and the poor guy didn't even know what we were going to see!

Me, DH, DD10, and DD7 saw it today - we all loved it! Giselle is hilarious when she first arrives in NY. I agree with the other posters - there are a few scary parts for little kids, but I think it is appropriate for kids of any age. My DDs loved the parts with the animals, especially Pip. I definitely would like to see it again. :cheer2:

I took my eight year old son to this and he loved it! What a great movie!

My parents took my DD(4) to see it today and they said she loved it!

I took my DD who will be 3 in 2 weeks to see it today! It is an excellent movie. Very humorous. My DD sat on my lap whenthe queen turned into a dragon, but other than that she was fine. The old hag was REALLY gross in the real world!
The girl playing Giselle was super awesome too!

I am taking my DD5 to see it tomorrow...I am so excited. We are leaving dad and little DD2 at home for some girl time...I can't wait...who can resist a little eye candy from Patrick Dempsey?? :rotfl:

We just saw it this afternoon and liked it as well. DD 5 wasn't as "enchanted" as mommy and daddy, but there was enough to keep everyone happy.

We saw this yesterday and all of us - me, DH and DS who is 6 - loved it! I keep finding myself starting to sing "I've been dreaming of..."

I agree with everyone who loved it! We took DD4 and DD2 on Wednesday and they loved it. Nothing too scary and DD2 made it through about half of the movie without wandering too much, then wandered the second half (after the popcorn, candy and soda were gone!). Typical for her, she really doesn't get into movies or tv too much. DD4 loved it and I would recommend it for any princess loving little girl or big girl:) . Enjoy!

My DD5 and I went to see this tonight. We loved it!! She asked one question through the whole movie! I think there were as many young boys there (if not more) as there were little girls! DD wants to go see it again, and lets face it, so do I.

Today it was announced that "That's How You Know", "So Close", and "Happy Working Song" are ALL nominated for best song at the Oscars!!!
