"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Belle wrote the same thing on my bookmark!

Awww gee, way to kill my buzz there Rob.

Gah, that MIRROR...HOW DO THEY DO IT?!? I desperately want to know but can't for the life of me figure it out. Pure Disney magic happening right there. Lumiere is so amazing too! I wasn't sure what to expect when we did ETwB for the first time last year, but I left SO impressed!

Isn't that thing spectacular???? I'd heard about it, seen photos, but to see it happen in person was pretty mind-blowing. Haha, I am one of those people that just needs to know how things are done. And yet here, I'm happy to simply call it magic. I was so impressed with the whole thing.

Aww it seems like Enchanted Tales with Belle was a fun time! I'm looking forward to trying this out in a few months. I have a question though ~ Do you think we should aim to do this right at park opening or get a FP+? I know the wait gets super long.

Parade watching is always a good time! So cute that the genie was making heart hands :)

Mmm Lefou's Brew! Yum!

It was Lauren. I am really glad I got to see it finally. I think you'll really enjoy it, especially with a little one.
Hmmm, now this is an interesting question. It does gain lines fairly quickly, but my guess is a lot less so now that Mine Train is open... not to mention the chaos of Anna and Elsa... all in the same general area. If you're skipping those 2, you'll be fine at rope drop for Enchanted Tales I think. If those other 2 are important, maybe look into FP-ing them. Plus, you're going in Sept, so the crowds will be a smidge lower overall.

Ewwww, Blackberry. :rotfl2: I feel for you there buddy, I really do.

Such great CM interactions you have, I'm telling you! Unfortunately, Disney is not alone with how they underpay people. It's all over the place. The larger the companies get, the more they do it.

It's always your ride mates fault. :lmao:

Big Al is the best. Hands down.

Awww, how sweet of Riley! She does get you man. She totally gets you.

Tangled tinkle spot. Gotta remember that.

I love the animatronics at ETwB. They're so fluid! I just love all of the advancements they make with it.

Foo's Boo!!!!!

:( But you know, for my purposes, it works really well (I like a tactile keyboard). Plus, it's hard to argue with free.

Aww thanks Dani. I just love CM's. Oh without a doubt this is absolutely not restricted to Disney by any means. Believe me, I work for a huge company... I know it first hand, lol.

Yes it is. The losers.

Oh heck yes he is!!!

OMG, its amazing how such a small thing can bring such a huge smile. I love that penny and I adore that kid.

This will be the new official name!!!

Amazing. Just amazing. I've always been impressed with Disney animatronics since the beginning. They're really the staple of Disney. But to see the progression (and I hear the Mine Train is off the charts in this regard), just makes me so excited to see what's next?

Doggonit!!! How did I miss that???????? I'm very ashamed.

I really want to see ETWB. It looks so cool and everyone raves about the mirror and animatronics. I will have to go see them some day!
Cute pics of Riley with Belle!
Oh dear. Mr Incredible, you are a married man and a father of three and THIS IS NOT A RAVE. there's no place for moves like that on Main St! :rotfl:
Great pic in Gaston's chair!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

You need to see it at least once Wendy. As a whole, it doesn't make it a must do for me, but the effects are mind-blowing.
It was, and so nice of them to offer. But then all of Riley's pics are cute. :p
Oh lord Wendy, it was... shocking. I wish I had videoed it, because it really was crazy.
Thanks!! I was pretty excited to finally see it empty.

Loved reading about your experiences at ETwB. Nice pictures, especially the one with Lumiere and Belle.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Animatronically Correct :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

:worship::worship::worship:

Just like the prince in the stained glass window at Be Our Guest.

:scared1:

That is awesome that Riley had her picture taken with Belle. And that Genie was crushing on her. Things like that are such special memories.

Thanks Dee. Honestly, once inside I had a hard time not looking at Lumiere. So impressive.

Making this the new Imagineer term is my goal. :)

Haha, yes, he was a little too correct.

Oh yeah for sure. It was so nice of the CM's to invite her for the photo in Enchanted Tales. But Genie... now that was something to watch. He really made her feel special (which of course she is).

ROBBBB! I did Enchanted on Saturday and it was just great.. Just the details, the theming, everything. Lawson got picked to be Maurice and Landen and I were the wardrobe.. (He wouldnt go up without me.. LOL...) But, I do agree with you in that, it may not be a must do...

And I have to give you credit in regard to how you told me to go to LM first and then Enchanted and we should be fine... We ended up doing LM back to back and then did ETWB and were done by 10:00. :) June crowds weren't bad at all, just rained alot!!

I hope to start on a new TR- as soon as I get all my pics together.. Came home to a mess, I'll explain in the TR. I should have just stayed at Disney.. LOL

Ahhh, that is so great Marcie!!! I am so glad you liked it and that you were all in it. I think that does makes a difference. How fun.

Sa-weet!!! I love it when I'm right, lol. Actually, I'm just glad it worked out like that.

Yay, I can't wait to read. But wait... I believe you also have another one to finish...

That mirror, while I've never witnessed it for myself, just seems so cool! Talk about a show. It has to blow kids' minds.

It might sound dorky, but a bookmark by Belle seems much better than a card. At least a bookmark you can use on a daily basis when you get back home.

Aww, how awesome that Genie showed Riley so much attention! It was a party before the party. :rotfl:

First things first as I think this is your first post here... WELCOME, and thank you for following along!!!

LeFou's Brew is my go to snack/drink now. So good.

I did enjoy it and I'm glad I've seen it. But now I can move on, lol. I probably focus a bit more on shows maybe than you do, especially if you consider Move It Shake It a show. Country Bears obviously is a must do for me.

I actually don't consider parades "shows", per se. My (admittedly limited) definition of a "show" is something indoors or in a designated outdoors area for 15 minutes or more and watch something on a "stage". I enjoy all the parades at all of the parks. And Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It is my favorite parade at MK, as anyone who has read my (in progress) retro TR of my semi-solo 2010 trip (TR in progress) [/shameless self-promotion] :rotfl2:

Truthfully Alicia, this was the main thing I wanted, nay NEEDED, to see in person. Believe me, it blows adult's minds to. Like, WHERE DID THAT DOOR COME FROM?????? It's like the old Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Not dorky at all. It is a lovely keepsake, PLUS, it really fits the whole Belle theme since she's such a reader. It's perfect. Of course, most of my reading is online, so this type of bookmark doesn't work so well, but still...

It... Was... AWESOME. Finding out after that as she gets older the character shout outs have lessoned a bit made this even more memorable. Genie gets a gold star for sure.

We haven't done ETWB yet....I think we need to make that happen on our next trip!!:)

Yes you do Julie. DD is getting to be the perfect age too. Maybe she'll even be in the show.

Haha, no I get that. Honestly, I used to be the exact same when it came to shows. I just had no interest at all. But now I like to mix things up a bit more and usually plan to include many of the shows... in between riding Everest. :p

Loving this trip report SO much! Thanks Rob! If you get a chance, check out my trip report. Here's the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3289594

Hi Allan, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Hi Robb, long time no see. :) it only took me two days to get caught up your trip report. I have really enjoyed reading it. That is awesome about all of you dis meets, what fun. The interaction with you and Riley and Carrie is also so sweet. I understand being nervous about meeting new kids. I teach children for a living and I am always nervous. I so hope that you enjoy your trip to Niagra Falls. I was so excited to finally learn about your day at Sea World. I have never been there and I was so anxious to here about your experiences. The pictures were great especially the dolphins. So many great pictures and adventures/interactions from your trip. And who doesn't love dessert for breakfast, especially strawberry short cake. Keep sharing!!!

Tisa, the fact that you started this comment with "Dude" makes it all a-okay in my book. :thumbsup2 The DISmeets this trip really were the difference maker. I don't know that I'll ever be able to top this trip. You and I share the same problem... so many places to see... ooh Disney! This is why I never get anywhere else.
I can honestly say that this was without a doubt my best birthday (week) ever. No contest.

Great...because after I posted that I thought "Do Canadians take offense to being called 'Dude'?!" :lmao:

I loved ETwB but it isn't a must do for me either. Would I go back? Most definitely! I agree that the animatronics are so great! I adore Lumiere!

Did I comment? I thought I did. Eh, whether I did or not, I'll say (or say again) that I'm glad you enjoyed ETWB! I'm with you, it's not a must do for me, but I'll definitely do it again at some point!

Aww Nikia!!! I'm so glad to see you back!!! Thank you for getting caught up. The DISmeets were the absolute best part of this or any other trip for me. It's so funny to look back now and remember because nervous about it. It actually seems so silly now. But it turned out so wonderful, and gave me memories I will truly and always cherish. Thank you; It's just under 4 weeks until I'm there. I can't wait.
SeaWorld was great. It always is, but this time was extra great with all the extra Christmas things. I loved it.
Mmm... Strawberry Shortcake... Breakfast of Champions.

Bahahaha, actually, I'm not sure there's much we are offended by. Other than what you will see in the next update...

Exactly my thoughts too. Not a must do, but I would absolutely see it again. The effects are pretty spectacular.

Haha, no worries Dani, I do that sometimes too. I really am so glad I saw it just for the effects alone. I have no doubt I will return.

"IT'S THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON, YOU CAN FEEL IT IN THE AIR."
Day 8 – December 10, 2013 Part 4

MVMCP II was now on, but not officially until this bad boy is captured.

74.jpg

OK... NOW it's on.

Carrie had hoped to get one of the party exclusive pins for sale, but they sold out immediately.
...But for the low low price of $110, you can buy it in this lovely set of pins…

Ummmmm, yeah… pass.

We were passing through the area near the path to Crystal Palace, when I heard it again…

Another... Australian… Accent.

So of course I had to stop.

The young lady was quite chatty, which was great, because again, I love Australian accents, and I love CM’s.
At the parties, she worked parade control, so I asked her what that was like.

She happily told me it was mostly good…
... And then came the statement that sickened me to my very core.

“Well, I did have one guest spit in my face!”

Um… WHAT!!!??? :furious:

I’m going to summarize the story, because to tell it in long form will get my blood boiling all over again.

The short version is she was explaining to a “man” (in quotes because this is no man),
That he and his family could not stand in the middle of the street with the parade coming through.
Due to her "completely unreasonable request", his mature response (in front of his kids no less) was to hurl expletives at her,
And then…

SPIT… in her face.

Even writing it now, months after the fact, makes me so angry and upset, almost to the point of tears.
I am not a violent person in any way; I hate violence; But friends, I promise you, if I had been there and witnessed this,
As much as it pains me to say it,
I am fairly certain that I would no longer be welcome in Walt Disney World.

SPITTING in someone’s face has to be the absolute most disgusting and disrespectful thing a person can do.
Yelling, screaming, shoving, even hitting are horrendous ways to behave, but to spit in her face would have put me over the edge.

And to top it off, to the best of her knowledge, he wasn’t even kicked out.

My brain was having a hard time processing this, but as heartbroken as I felt for her, I was also so very impressed.
We know CM’s put up with a lot from guests, but I looked at this, basically kid, who is by herself thousands of miles from home.
To have this done to her, and yet here she was standing in front of me with a smile on her face, I just couldn’t help but admire her…

… And of course get a picture.

75.jpg

We did share a nice laugh with her when we told her we were from Canada and she excitedly exclaimed,

“I LOVE CANADIA!!!!”

No I did not misspell that; That is literally what she said.

She immediately broke out in laughter and corrected herself,
But after hearing that horrendous story, this was exactly what I needed to bring back the festive mood.

If Emily is still around, add her to your CM visit list. She’s an absolute sweetheart.

After the wonderful interaction with Genie in the Move It Shake It parade, it felt necessary to meet him,
So we headed on over to Adventureland.

Before that though, Riley made me put on the shirt she was supposed to wear, but since her dress was already Christmas themed,
She decided I should wear it.

Of course I vigorously objected, swearing I would never ever wear it; Not in a million years; No way, No how.
Oh wait, I may be remembering that incorrectly.
Yeah, now that I think about it, I believe what I said was, "Yes Ma'am".

The setup for this greet was Aladdin with Abu, or Genie with Jasmine, and they could swap out at any time.
The goal was obviously Genie, so we jumped in the line hopeful for a pre front of the line switch out.

As we were getting closer to what I thought was the front of the line, I decided to move to the end so if there was no switch,
Carrie and Riley could meet Aladdin and Abu and then join me back in the line where hopefully a switch would happen.
I thought this was a sound strategy and I entertained myself by conversing with the family behind me.

The strategy was for naught, however, as I eventually realized that the line looped a few more times than I thought.
A good bit before they would be at the front of the line, the switch out occurred, so I left my spot and rejoined them.

And then things got weird, as right after I joined them, I noticed maybe two groups ahead of us was…

Brenda, Emily, Vicki, Paula, Linda, and Philip.

I introduced everybody and Brenda took some photos of us in line,
And despite appearances, I swear I was not channeling Lindsay Lohan on a bender.

Yes, I was a Snowman… I just didn’t know it yet.

Then I took the following creeper photos of their Meet (without flash).

And when Brenda actually starts her December TR in 2016, you can eventually see those pictures from the front. :p

Then it was our turn, and Genie immediately began comparing scarves with me.

81.jpg

However, I had no idea at that point that my shirt had a scarf on it, so it wasn’t until I saw the photos that I fully appreciated our interaction.

More importantly, I made sure to “remind” Genie of his and Riley’s earlier Move It Shake It connection.

Mission accomplished!

Shortly after we ended up in Tomorrowland, so we stopped in Cosmic Rays to dance, or at least watch others dance, and get some treats.

I wanted to get a photo of the Munks doing their thing…
It wasn’t until I got home that I even noticed the “Littlest Photobomber” on the right hand side.

Despite our lack of luck with the exclusive pin, there was another thing on Carrie’s bucket list and that was, well, a bucket.
A Mickey Christmas popcorn bucket to be precise.

We finally found one near Storybook Circus, so we took a spot nearby on a ledge to chill, which also happened to be right next to Donald and Daisy.
There was a big line already formed on the other side waiting for Scrooge to show up, but the current Donald and Daisy line was short.

So while Carrie enjoyed her popcorn, Riley and I went to meet the ducks.
And FYI, Donald apparently is the newest CM at the Canadian Pavilion in Epcot.

TO BE CONTINUED…

Ha! I laughed out loud at the "littlest photobomber!!" And again at Donald as the newest Canadian Cast Member. I don't post often but I'm still reading and enjoying everything you post!

Teresa

That spitting story sounds more like what correctional officers have to deal with!! Not CM!! She looks so sweet too! What a monster, not a "man"! I bet your interaction with her renewed her faith in the human race a bit!

Love that littlest photo-bomber!! :rotfl2:

That CM story broke my heart. My good CM friend once had a full tray of nachos and cheese sauce thrown at her, and a guest cussed her out on Christmas Day...it's SO upsetting how CMs can be treated, and the fact that they still go to work smiling is a testament to how great they are.

I love your shirt! So funny that you saw Brenda and Em in line.

I wish I had time to meet all four Aladdin characters! Your meet with Genie looks so fun.

The Littlest Photobomber could be a modern day children's story. So cute.

Excellent update Rob! OMG I cannot even believe that about the guy spitting in the CM's face! Who does that? And I agree with you...I hate violence but I would've taken action in that situation.

MVMCP looks like so much fun! DW and I would like to do that sometime. :thumbsup2

Man oh man, people never cease to amaze me with their level of rudeness and complete lack of a conscious. Since Alex works in a customer service centered job, I have, unfortunately, become accustomed to hearing awful stories. To the point where I'm almost immune to them, but sometimes you hear things that just make you crazy, like that spitting incident. I just don't think I could take that. :rolleyes1

A Genie meet mad greet was a must, of course! And how cool that you ran into Brenda and the gang while in line. I'm sure she'll get to her December trip soon enough. She had a long vacation to cover with her August one!

Wow, Donald does look like he could hop on over to the Canada pavilion! I had no clue that was his Christmas party attire.

First the good - Yay for meeting up with Brenda! She seems like a truly lovely person.

Very cute outfits. I love that the three of you are totally IN the spirit!

Boo to the elusive party pin.

The dance party looks like so much fun.

And now the bad - I am convinced that a trip to Disney can bring out the bipolar side to some people. Not that it's a excuse, because its not. But I swear there are people out there with "issues" and the intensity of the Disney experience can make these vulnerable people go berserk. I do agree that spitting at someone is one of the absolute worst and most disrespectful things you can do. What a darling girl and a beautiful smile! It saddens me that she would have to experience that just for doing her job. :furious:

Rob, let me tell you. Working at any kind of theme park or amusement park definitely shows you the disgusting side of people. Having worked at Six Flags for quite a number of years in my youth, I've had a number of nasty things done and said to me. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me that someone spit in her face. But I am glad that it upset you.

I have been shoved, pushed, yelled at, spit at, and even been told "I'm not talking to you because you're a woman...." :scared: People have issues unfortunately.

But for all of the negative things in this world, I feel that there are the people that outweigh it completely, like you. And believe me, had I ever met someone like you when I was working, I would have been over the moon happy. And would have truly felt that my job was great. :thumbsup2

Anyhoodle, she looks absolutely sweet, and I'll make sure to keep my eye out for her to see if she's still working there.

I LOVE CANADIA! I'm putting that on a shirt.

That is the cutest photobomber ever!

Is that Canadia Donald? ;)

I can't even imagine spitting in someone's face, especially not over a CM telling me I couldn't stand somewhere! That poor girl, but she sounds like a real sweetheart.

My goodness, you just run into DISers left & right!! How funny that you ended up behind Brenda and the gang in the Aladdin meet line. Great pics of the group with the characters!
