Don't post too much but I really enjoy all your trip reports ! Love that you spent time just taking in the atmosphere of the Christmas party. Hi Rob. Fellow Canadian here. I mostly lurk but I had to post to say how much I am enjoying your report. You have an amazing attitude about everything and just soak in the magic. We attended mvmcp in November and dh was less than impressed. The monorail was down and it too ninety minutes to get to Mk. The place was mobbed. My party in 2008 was much more peaceful. I think we just got unlucky. Your party time seemed great. I'm a big fan of the Halloween party as is dh.

Anyway just a quick hello. I'll be back in the world in just two weeks. Resort only trip this time though.

CHRISTMAS PARTY TIME!!!!!!!! My absolute favourite!

YES, the parties are fairly expensive... YES MNSSHP is far superior (in my opinion), BUT...
The biggest expense for attending is just getting there (flights, accommodation, etc)...
So since I was already there, the added expense was relatively minor.
My logic was that if I was home in Halifax, the party wouldn't even be an option, so I really HAD to do it.

Ok first of all, MVMCP > MNSSHP! But other than that, I love your logic
I adore the Christmas party costumes. So adorable.

I took a mental note of the giant candy canes which indicated the location of the "free" cookies and cocoa.
Yes, this pales in comparison to the awesome Halloween Party candy, but it's still something.

See, I don't like candy and I DO like hot chocolate so... I reiterate... MVMCP > MNSSHP

Ahhhh the pics with Pooh and friends are adorable! They're such a great bunch to interact with, especially Tigger.

Really? I must respectfully disagree. Sure it's not exceptionally clever, but I like the name because it's all about making wishes for the holidays, you know? MVMCP > MNSSHP.
Sounds like you had some more great CM interactions always fun.
I debated buying the ears. I wanted to, but very few people around me had them and I thought it would be more fun to be part of a crowd of them, does that make sense?
HalloWishes is a wonderful show, but Holiday Wishes/Merry ChristWishes is my own personal favourite by a longshot, mostly because I'm a Christmas lover and that show just makes me feel so festive I can't contain it!

So... MVMCP is still > MNSSHP... but we can agree to disagree.

I can't believe you've never met Piglet! He's always my favorite, so cute! And they may not be rare but it's cool to get all 4 of them together for a pic!

I wanted to meet Genie SO bad but Prince Ali and Abu were out, Abu made up for it though he was fantastic!

Always wonderful to meet fantastic Disney CMs, I'm glad you had a good chat with all of them!

The Frozen section of CTM is fabulous, I just love it!

I loved Holiday Wishes too! The finale was so incredible! I must make it down for Hallo-Wishes soon, hopefully this year!

I agree that once you're there and you've been to the party already the expense of another ticket doesn't seem like much. During my week of 3 MNSSHPs I was just like crazed. I was like I need more of this MNSSHP drug, please take my money!! Thank you.

I love how you're always making friends with the CMs. Those are such cute photos and the Christmas costumes!! AGGHH! I want to work at the MK parties SO BAD. I can't even imagine it feeling like work, even I was like, in Custodial. I would be like dancing around picking up trash, smiling at everyone and talking to all the guests haha. It would be a blast. HIRE ME DISNEY!!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun at your "bonus" Holiday Party. Honestly, taking in the scenes seems like one of the highlights to me ... love the more subtle ones like the snowflake lights on the rocks.

Agree with you that the name for the Fireworks could use work and "Merry ChristWishes" is pretty good. Could just to "Happy HoliWishes" - but obviously that is too similar to "HalloWishes". Could do "XWishes" - but makes it seem like an Extreme Sport or something. Kinda think "Wishes Noel" has a nice ring to it

Thanks Kristina. The ears are a little on the pricey side (like $24-$25), but they really do add a lot to the shows. Plus, they sync up with each other I think when there's no shows.

Rob I love love love your firework pictures!!! What setting do you use on your camera to get them. I have a similar camera and I always seem to just not get the settings quite right. One of my goals for this trip is to get good firework pictures.

Thank you so much Joleen. Honestly, I just leave everything on auto. However, some of the fireworks "photos" are actually video and I just took some screen grabs.

Have you filled out the proper forms to get the fireworks' name change? I am in total favor of you doing so, as I agree... A little lazy there, Disney!

There are SO many things that make me say "only in Disney" and that's the essence of why we are all so rightly obsessed. Those 3 DCP CMs are on that list.

I have to get on that Tracy because a name change is definitely in order. Haha, pretty soon I'll have renamed everything in Disney.

Absolutely!!! It's such a unique place, but it's also up to all of us to recognize those moments too. Those DCPers were so wonderful to share that time with me, and I wl always be grateful to them for it.

This was my "solo" night at the party (the next party I had the pleasure of some wonderful company), so I really wanted to just capture the atmosphere this night.

That was my thought too. To be honest I'm still surprised the party has the word Christmas in it still. But since it does, no need to hold back on the fireworks name I think, so Merry ChristWishes from now on.

WELCOME, or as I probably should say, WELCOME BACK!! I remember you followed along on the last TR, so I'm even more delighted to hear you're on board for this one too.
Thanks so much for your kind words. It's my belief that you have to embrace the Magic rather than having it just "delivered" if that makes any sense, so that's always been my philosophy. This particular party was Sold Out, but I personally still found it enjoyable. I guess it's all really a matter of expectations. My prior Xmas party experience in 2009 was "quieter" though.

They are adorable too. I loved the outfits so much!

The Cocoa was good, but often it just wasn't hot enough. But c'mon... a huge variety of different candy types vs. one cookie. Not even a contest.

They so are. Despite the fact that they're everywhere, I never like to miss them. Super awesome interactions always!!!

Oh my, you're never gonna change my mind on this one. But now if they actually did change the name to Merry ChristWishes then maybe I might...
These ones were so great especially under the circumstances. The time really flew by. PLUS, I think I may have inadvertently helped sell some ears!
It does make sense. Part of the problem is people don't buy them because they can't "enjoy" them, then nobody has them. It's a self-fulfilling prophesy really. It's a shame too, because they are cool. I mainly just wanted to have them, just to have them.

OK, so this one might surprise you, but I do actually prefer Merry ChristWishes over HalloWishes. I really do. Both are great BUT (and I've only seen it once) I actually thought HalloWishes was a little repetitive. Still fabulous, but I find Merry ChristWishes to have more variety.
So look, we agree on something, lol.

Absolutely Jess, it's just perfect logic. And if I recall, you were at that party, though I never saw you.

Up to that point, never. He's quite rare nowadays except for Crystal Palace, which I've never been to. And yes, all four together is rare. I think the parties are the only place to do it.

I made sure it was Genie coming out because that's the one I wanted. As it turned out, I ended up meeting him again, but that one took a bit more work.

I had a wonderful time waiting for the fireworks with them. It really did make the time fly by.

OMG Jess, I think I died. I was just captivated by it immediately. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen or heard before.

It's fabulous, and I actually do prefer it to HalloWishes. But HalloWishes is absolutely must see as well. I'm hoping to get back for MNSSHP this year.

It makes total sense I think. In relative terms, it's peanuts. Plus, you can slow down a bit knowing you don't have to do everything in one night. I don't know that I'll ever do single parties again.

THAT was really pretty. I didn't capture it in all it's glory, but what a genius, and actually kind of subtle, idea. Loved that and all the projections. Just a totally different MK at the parties.

Aww you have to and THANK YOU!! It's one of my favourite things to do there, bar none, but you know what that's like since you do it too!!! But I honestly think they can sense a "true believer" which is why we end up drawn to each other. I really believe that.
And don't even get me started on working there. I have already told everyone I know that if I ever become financially sufficient where I don't need to earn money to live, you will find me working custodial in a Disney park doing everything you said.

It really was Phil, and knowing I had another a few days later made it even more relaxing. No need to rush, just enjoy.

Thanks Phil. It's just a necessary thing to me. That shirt is absolutely a big conversation starter. And the head tilt will forever be a fav Disney memory.

Honestly anything but the bland "Holiday Wishes" would be good by me. It's just too generic I think.

"Why would I buy these when they're really only for the enjoyment of others... I don't even get to see them".

I love your party pictures. I have only been to Disney twice at Christmas time and I have only gone to the party once. I think they have made a lot of improvements since I attended. The decorations and all the lights look amazing. I am bummed that I won't be there during Christmas until 2015, but its never too early to start planning, right?

I've never been to a Halloween party (it's a travesty, I don't wanna talk about it ) so I don't know how good the candy they give is, but I have to say I loooooved the cookies and hot chocolate. The cookies are SO GOOD.
