"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

I love the chalk art in the UK! So glad they remembered Walt's birthday! :cool1:

What a great DIS meeting, it sounds like the 3 of you had a great time hanging out and chatting!

I love being one of the last people to leave a park, especially Epcot! It's so calm and peaceful at the end of the night, I love the picture you took of the lights on the ground, so pretty!

Awesome ending to a great day! :yay::woohoo:

OMG Jen, me too. It really made up for everything else during the day.

While I can only speak for myself, I had the most amazing time. I was just blown away by how relaxed it all was. Just a beautiful evening.

I so agree. Epcot at night is pure bliss. I was actually surprised how many people were still around. I even had to wait a bit to get the "street light" photo.

Awesome indeed!!!

 Hi Rob! Just found your new TR and am looking forward to another fantastic read. I love your writing style and sense of humour. :thumbsup2

Hi Carol, I'm so glad you did!! WELCOME BACK!!!! Thanks SO MUCH for your kind words. :goodvibes

Hi Rob! Found your TR (after reading about the meets in another TR) and thought I'd say hi. I'm only at the part with the EIGHT rides on Everest in a row. I doubt I'll get to do that! Not that I'd mind, it's just I can only travel during summer or March Break. That says it all! :)

Looking forward to reading more tomorrow!

YAY, I'm so very glad you're here. Nothing better than WELCOMING a fellow Maritimer back. ::yes::
Haha, yeah, 8 in a row during those times would be pretty tough especially with FP+.

Ok... Hope I can remember some of the things I thought when I was reading!

The Castle, Disney at Christmas! Totally on my bucket list. Just hard to do as a teacher with limited travel dates.

Loved the chalk art at the UK.

All the Canadian 'talk' reminds me of Bob and Doug... LOL

I got distracted by my nieces and nephews, so now I can't remember what I wanted to say! Oh well. Fun meets and updates!

OMG it is absolutely a MUST DO!!! No matter how gorgeous that castle is, to see it with the Dream Lights is just a whole other level.

Oh me toooooo! Tears and my eyes were a common companion.

Haha, yes me too. They certainly didn't help our case much did they?

Thank you!!!

:) Thanks for the welcome!

Oh it's my pleasure. I'm glad to see you back!

CHARACTER MEETS AND HOLIDAY TREATS, THAT'S WHAT MVMCP IS MADE OF
Day 4 – December 6, 2013 Part 1

So far I was two for two in days with a DISmeet.
On day 1 (Disney time), I was blessed to have a short meet up with Katt (katt789).
I have just some off recounting the the amazing-ness of meeting and spending some time with Brenda and Emily on day 2 (Disney time).
Sadly, this day has none... HOWEVER... That doesn't mean I didn't have a DISmeet YESTERDAY!
Wendy (aka teekathepony) was in town for a little "retail therapy" with hubby Johnny, and we arranged a little DIS time.
We met for coffee at the mall (their treat THANK YOU) and chatted for 2+ hours and I just had such a lovely time with them.

And because we all know, if there's no photo, it didn't happen...

THANK YOU SO MUCH WENDY AND JOHNNY for giving up some of your shopping time to spend a little time with me.

*****************************************

Initially, my plans for today were similar but different.
Magic Kingdom was always on the radar, but my evening plans had been different.
However, I decided just the evening prior to add on a second MVMCP to my day’s activities.
As a result, I moved what I previously planned for the evening to the beginning of today.
Trust me; this all makes sense in my head.

Also, since I was now doing the party and no longer “encouraged” to leave Magic Kingdom by 7 pm,
I decided to head out a little later than originally planned.
I started my day with my normal coffee break, but also some early morning pictures across the lake of my neighbor resort, AoA.
It was a stunningly beautiful morning, and the lake really did look like a sheet of glass.

02.jpg

I even spotted the tippy top of Spaceship Earth off in the distance.

03.jpg

Moving to ground level, I snared a few more photos of the same subject,

04.jpg

07.jpg

And also a reverse shot back at my building; my room being just a few doors down on the left.
God I loved this location.

08.jpg

It was around 10 am before I headed to the bus stop to take my first EVER bus ride to Magic Kingdom.
Yes, you read that right, I have never bused to any park, let alone Magic Kingdom.
I’ve been on the buses before of course, but never as my sole mode of transportation for the day.
However, given the fact that the buses dock right by the MK entrance, and because it was the only park I was going to today,
I just decided to bus it.

Annnnnnnd, a bus was right there waiting when I arrived at the POP stop.

09.jpg

ANNNNNNND, IT WAS ALL MINE… At least temporarily.

10.jpg

Before too long though, the bus started to fill up, but certainly not to the point of sardine-land.
A family sat down next to me and the kids were super adorable… and very chatty.
They told me all about their love of the thrill rides, which I thought was awesome.

This really is one of the things I most love about the whole Disney World experience...
Conversations with complete strangers just happen organically, almost as if it is a direct part of the Disney package.
People are so willing to share information about themselves than they would at a trip to the mall.
They all really helped pass the time, and before long we arrived at the gates of Magic Kingdom.
That would be the family I was organically conversing with on the left.

13.jpg

14.jpg

But… I would not be entering just yet.

Since I was doing the party that night, I moved what were my previous evening plans to the start of this day.
I had originally planned to play around in Magic Kingdom for the day, heading over to check out the G Flo after that,
And then finishing up at the Poly for the Fireworks on the beach.
With my newly purchased Party ticket, I changed all that.
So it was off to the Monorail for me, and a loop around the Seven Seas Lagoon, before arriving at my destination, The Grand Floridian.

15.jpg

I know it may be shocking to many (it certainly is to me), but I had never set foot in the GF ever before.
So, what better time to have my first look than when it is all decked out for Christmas?

17.jpg

This place sure is pretty, but my main purpose for this visit was to see this icon of Disney Christmas.

Day 4 – December 6, 2013 Part 1 Continued

26.jpg

27.jpg

After fully taking in the beauty of the GF lobby, I made my way outside to have a look around the grounds.
I started with the entrance, and was so very charmed by this gentleman working there.

28.jpg

Try and tell me he isn’t the absolute cutest man you have ever seen.
He was chatting with a guest, so I didn’t want to interrupt, but I couldn’t help but feel a total love and admiration for him.

29.jpg

30.jpg

Moving back inside, I just loved the floor details that make sure it still has that “Disney” touch.

31.jpg

And of course my obsession with welcome mats continued.

32.jpg

I wasn’t the shutterbug I normally am and was just content with observing the beautiful surroundings,
Snapping just a few photos as I toured around before heading to the boat launch back to Magic Kingdom… another first for me.

Before heading to the Magic Kingdom though, we first stopped over at the Poly.

Construction was underway for DVC.

Then it was back to Magic Kingdom.

This little boat ride reminded me how truly breathtaking and utterly amazing this "World" really is.

TO BE CONTINUED…

CHRISTMAS PARTY!!! Always the right choice. I know you and many others prefer Not So Scary, but for me the Christmas party is where it's at. So I respect your choice.

The GFlo looks absolutely stunning, especially decorated for Christmas. I can't wait to get back to the World in the Christmas season so I can do more resort exploring.

Oh me toooooo! Tears and my eyes were a common companion.

Haha, yes me too. They certainly didn't help our case much did they?

Oh, speaking of tears, that was one more thing I had wanted to mention... I love One Man's Dream, but I have seen the movie... and sobbed like a baby. Actually, even Hall of Presidents brings tears to my eyes, and I'm not American, as you know.

And Bob and Doug sure did play up the Canadian stereotypes.

Have a good week, let's be grateful the snow they thought we might get over here seems to have disappeared for tomorrow. ;)

Never been on a Disney bus?! I'm glad you changed that!!

Your pics at POP makes me definitely want to request lake view!

The GF is just simply beautiful and than little man was precious!

What a beautiful afternoon for the boat ride!

Yay for a Wendy meet! I saw that on FB and was super happy you guys were able to meet. :goodvibes

The G-Flo lobby is gorgeous anytime but all decked out for Christmas - it is spectacular! I loved trying to find the hidden gingerbread men on the gingerbread house. (I needed help from Em.)

A bus and a launch! This is a great day in Disney transportation for DisneyKid4Life!!

Wow, the lake really did look like a sheet of glass.

Beautiful pictures of the GF!! Hopefully one day I can be there during the holidays to see all those decorations.

Yay for the MVMCP!! :woohoo:

Awesome updates!! It really is a lovely treat to just take it all in and go slow and check out the resorts, especially the GFlo, it's so pretty!!!

Just caught up on your TR, I loved your other TRs and this one is exceptional as well! I'm planning my first solo trip, so I'm picking up pointers from your solo trips! :)

I love that you celebrated Walt's birthday!

I'll be waking up at WDW on my birthday for the first time ever in September, I can't wait!

Looking forward to the rest of your TR!

Wendy Wu Woohooo hi Wendy!!!! Yep triple jelly beans haha I still laugh at this. Infact I can no longer see Jelly beans without thinking of you the same can be said with doors that read "push" Anyways I love ur G-Flo pics! Also i'm gonna msg u soon because I have some things to discus MUAHAHAHA lol

I'm not usually one to resort hop, but if we get there at Christmas, I will certainly make time for it. As I was looking at your pics I was wondering how many vacation photos those girls inside the gingerbread house end up in? :rotfl: Excited to hear about the party!

A beautiful thing it is to wake up in Disney world hahahaha

No matter how much I say I hate them, the disney busses hold a special place in my heart.

I love that Gingerbread house and the GF decorations. A lot of those photos really were surreal and I was stunned just looking at them. You summed it up perfectly in that last line.

Hi again! It was so good to meet you Saturday and spend such a good time talking Disney. :goodvibes My parents, co-workers, and friends all get annoyed when I talk Disney too much! :lmao: We did manage to get to Costco on time :thumbsup2 then back to the mall. Poor Johnny missed Princess Auto (but I wasn't really disappointed... that just meant he didn't come home with more useless gadgets and gizmos!) Back home by 1am and managed to get up yesterday for the hockey game. (Go Canada Go!) Although I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get through work today... :faint:

Ain't no party like an MK party. More specifically, a MVMCParty! My absolute favourite!
Oh man, those Pop pictures are making me so nostalgic... I want to go back now! September is way too far away! Look at that smooth as glass Hourglass Lake :lovestruc I love Pop. 50's is a great location, I go back and forth, but sometimes 50's is my favourite. :rotfl2:

We have always relied solely on the Disney bus system and always had excellent luck. Although we did find the bus service at AK not nearly as good as at Pop. :confused3

People are so willing to share information about themselves than they would at a trip to the mall.
What are you saying? We met in a mall! :rotfl2:

G-Flo is so pretty at Christmas time, so elegant. That gingerbread house is just beyond comprehension! The details are my favourite. At first glance it looks like any fancy hotel, then you see Peter Pan in the floor tiles. :thumbsup2

Well, not too many people still have 'ride on a disney bus' on their bucket list. And now, neither do you!!

Ahhhh, memories of the Disney bus. My biggest memory was leaving DTD one night with my sis during one of our 'girls' trips. It was still warm outside - - muggy, humid - - typical September evening for Florida. When the bus finally showed up, we climbed aboard. Once we got on, we PRAYED for other people to board, because it was downright FREEZING in that bad boy. :cold: We huddled together and wrapped anything we had around us. We couldn't get off fast enough at our stop (which, of course, was the dang LAST stop!). After that ride, we continued to refer to them as the rolling refrigerators.

....I can't wait to go back!!! Mwah!!! (no ticker. :( )

ROB HOW DARE YOU. Your flawless pictures of AoA just made me miss Disney so much, I feel like I'm missing a limb! Probably cause I've stayed at Pop so much, that area just gets me. Le sigh. YAY FOR A 2ND PARTY THOUGH! I always recommend multiple parties :thumbsup2 :santa:
