Enchanted Tales with Belle

Would she have a better chance of getting picked if she wore a princess dress? I think Belle is one of the only ones she doesn't have but I know she'd LOVE to be part of it. She'll be newly 4 (bday the week before), so would that hurt her chances?

All kids get parts if they want them. There are minor and major parts. For the major parts, it's entirely based on the CM's perception of how well the child will do in the role. If they're enthusiastic, not shy, and show that they can follow directions, they'll be more likely to get one of the "major" roles.

Oh my, I must be in the minority. I liked it and thought that it was worthwhile doing once. My 11 YO DGD was bored to tears, did not care one bit about the special effects and hated every minute. Now the child was too polite to tell me and never let on so the first I heard was when I was going to add it to the schedule and she begged her Mom to let us skip it. SHe told her Mom the two kids with us would thank her! LOL! Go figure!

I think everyone should do it at least once. I did it on a solo trip in December of 2013 and was bored out of my mind. BUT, I think if you have small children it would be very enjoyable. I have never even suggested it to my teenage son. :p

LOL! My DGD would be whispering in his ear to RUN! LOL!

I enjoyed it, but after finding out I scarred my poor DGD, I am careful about recommendation it now, and I was the ETWB Cheerleader!

My daughter, who is 5, loves it. WE did it three times on our last trip. For older children, I think it is worth doing at least once. The effects are cool.

Thanks everyone! My daughter is not shy AT ALL and I think will get a kick out of getting to be part of it!

One of the most unique attractions in new Fantasyland in my opinion (maybe in all of WDW), but one you really only need to do once.
It's not a dark ride like many of the others ... it's not a coaster .. it's not really a show where you just sit in a large auditorium.

It is a very small audience live show with some neat technology that immerses you into the story/world of Beauty and the Beast like no other attraction.

The interaction with the audience (because of the small group) is amazing. It definitely makes it feel special. Add in the fact that a PhotoPass photographer is taking dozens of photos really personalizes it as well.

They let all the kids have a part in the show if they want to. It's a really cute show and the kids get to meet Belle and take a picture with her at the end!

It is definitely something to see once for the special effects (mirror, wardrobe, Lumiere). My DD is 9. When it was new (she was 6) she enjoyed it the first couple of times. After seeing it twice, she no longer really enjoyed it, BUT she still wanted to meet Belle in her gold dress-and on her 8 and 9 year old trips, we dropped Akershus (Still went to CRT and 1900 Park Fare) so that is the only way she could meet Belle. She always complains that she has to sit through the whole show to get her picture with Belle in her gold dress and that Belle doesn't sign. Last year, photopass lost the photos for our entire session too, so that was bad as I wasn't sitting anywhere to get a decent photo in the second they were together.

I would think that would help her chances. They mostly pick the younger kids for the actual roles (the rest are handed things like plates and salt shakers and get to walk in a "parade"), so I would say that being in the 4 to 6 year old range would be right where you want to be.

Meh. Tried this for the first time last trip with my daughter-in-law (mid-20's) who is a massive, massive Beauty and the Beast fan. The detail put into the pre-show waiting room was absolutely fantastic, and I got some really nice photos there. But, after that, we were both pretty much ambivalent and not too impressed. We also thought there would be a meet and greet with Belle afterwards, but if there was, it was only for families with children who were picked to be in the show and not the general audience.

We had better one on one interactions with Belle at her meet and greet in France in Epcot.

Definitely would also do tales with belle it's a very cute experience for the kids as well as play different parts in the show. And the special effects are cool !! My two daughters loved it they got a kick out of me playing a knight in shinning armour. Lol

I think it's cute if your kids are little, but I'd skip it with kids your kids age

Do it! We all really enjoyed it. Very cute, especially of a member of your family is part of the show.

It is way more fun if you have someone in your party participate! The shy granddaughters both got parts as plates and forks, and after numerous pleas for guards, my 30yo son and his girlfriend went up. They were hilarious!! The pictures we got on Photopass were outstanding (If you participate and have photopass/MM, you not only get everything the photographer takes during the show, but additional stock photos), and besides the granddaughters, Belle really fussed over my adult "guards" afterwards. Like everything else at Disney, the experience is all about what you make it!

Are you only able to take a photo with Belle if you participate in the play? I was hoping to take a picture with Belle in her ball gown. I'm a huge Beauty and the Beast fan and I'm going to Walt Disney World this December for my first trip. There are no little one's in my party. I'm in my twenties and my brothers are teens. Will that make a difference? :o
