OK People
..bear with me, Im a trip report Virgin and please allow for extreme jet-leg! Its 4.25am, Im bored, Ive had a tin of Tomato soup and a diet Pepsi and am now chewing American bubble gum so Im probably not very lucid!
Anyway, here goes .
Weds 16th October, packed, fed & watered and ready for our taxi at 1pm
Head of the household (yeah right) Tony ..AKA Scrooge McDuck loves saving but doesnt like spending!
Actual Head of the household (You know it girls!) Sam
DS Mike, 18yrs fanatic Light-switcher-off-er!
DS Marc, 15yrs family clown, has us in hysterics
DS Jordan, 12yrs Skateboarder extraordinaire
DD Holly, 9yrs messiest person in household.
Taxi arrived promptly, stunk of cigs, so me immediately not very happy! Taxi driver had only half a throat, not wishing to mock the afflicted but we couldnt understand a flippin word he said, Bless! He didnt smoke in the cab or Id have thrown a wobbly as I am known to do when the occasion calls!
Run through checklist and all set, so off we goon our 157m run to Manchester. A mere 30 miles up the road I say to Scrooge McDuck Have you got your driving license? No need to answer, turn round and go back to Gloucester. Taxi driver was very accommodating, this was not a problem.
Set off at 2pm, complete with driving license and one cushion from settee as I was feeling a little weary. We used day-before check in with Air2000, £10 for a family of 6 and well worth it. Tony & I asked for seats with extra legroom, which we got, Tony said its the best £60 hes ever spent, so I am re-considering the Scrooge McDuck nickname. Then went to our hotel, courtesy bus picked us up from the airport and took us to The Britannia Countryhouse hotel. I cant recommend them highly enough, we had a wonderful carvery there for dinner, and a great breakfast too.
We had booked the courtesy bus to take us to the airport at 9am, straight through to departures, it was a breeze. The only blip was the flight was 3 hours late. Things like that dont bother me though, no point getting het up is there? We were given a bacon roll and a large cookie each for lunch, and took off at 2.10pm. The extra legroom was absolute bliss, Id do it every time. Food was awful, drinks were over priced, but who cares, were on holiday!
We arrived at Sandford at 6.30pm local time, we had followed the sun all the way which seemed very strange, it was 11.30pm to us and sun shining,
WERE FINALLY IN ORLANDO
