Em's lost bracelet

Touching story. :D

It is too bad that her mother is touched and a real piece of work. Can't she stay with you on a permanent basis. There seems to be alot of love/fun in your house. That is what she should grow up with!

Chelsea~ Your mom is very special and you are lucky to have each other.

Now keep an eye on your stuff. ;)

And no, Em's mom didn't pay for a thing when we went to Disney. She almost didn't let Em go.

We are taking steps for Em. I don't want to say too much about it on a public board, if you know what I mean.

Some days I can't help but feel sorry for her mom. She can't see beyond her own feelings about things and hurts her own kids. She's letting hate/jelousy eat her up.

Em has a brother and sister both older than her. Her mom lost custody of her brother about 3 years ago. Em hasn't seen him since.

Em is terrified she'll never see her sister again too, so we have to be very careful how we handle things.

We did take her sister with us when we went to Six Flags New England in Aug. of 2001. We try to include her sister in our family events.

Del and I actually have serveral 'extra kids'. We took 9 of 'our' kids to Six Flags.

Yes, we are nuts. We found out.

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you Robin. I know you'll hang in there and do what's right for Em. She's a lucky girl to have you on her side. If you need 50,000+ character witnesses I think you know where to come! We can attest to the fact that you are indeed a character - and a great one too!

Isabella's story has similarities to Em's, her mom told her when she was 3 1/2 that Santa didn't exist. Grrrrr. But Isabella's discovered a whole new world including having now met the "real Santa" at Epcot.

Best of luck. LY, MI!

MAGINinMYHEART ... what a perfect thought ... that's a great idea, to keep passing on a small act of kindness. What a wonderful world it would be... :D

I must say it certainly didn't seem like a very big thing to try to replace Em's bracelet. I enjoyed doing it. My whole family enjoyed picking out which charm's we thought Em might like. Although they didn't really "get" it because they didn't read all of Delswife's trip reports ... I think they may have suspected it was just another excuse I made up to go shopping at Downtown Disney. They were wrong, I would have gone shopping anyway, the bracelet just gave that whole trip some true meaning.

It just seemed like the right thing to do. Those little "treasures" to 6 year olds mean more than us "adults" can imagine. Never did I even think for a moment that a mom could say or do something like that to their kid.

I must thank all of you for your good wishes ... they are so very special to me. :lovestruc

My heart aches for Em. I am sickened and saddend by what Em's mom said to her. She is a loving little girl with such a bright outlook. We must keep that alive in her forever.

I will tell all of you that it seems my DD14 has seen what a difference a small act of kindness can make. It's not often I get to witness a tear rolling down her cheek while she is on the conmputer! I often wonder if I am reaching my kids with the right messages ... and this story touched her. So for this night, her mom isn't so bad.

;)

preshi ... I like that ... TinkerKelli ...

The DIS is a special place. Where else can we experience so many emotions?!?

Thank you Delswife for keeping us entertained, making us realize how blessed we are, and for being the unique and special person you are.

Consider this a shameless bump back to page 1 so more of Wobin and Em's friends will be sure to read the story of Em's lost and replaced bracelet!

Way to go, Tinkerkelli. Love your new name!

See... This is why I can't pull myself away from these boards. The active trip-planning may be over (temporarily), but the Disney magic just keeps going :wizard: Pass it on::yes::

Nothing quite as touching as a TRULY happy child. Thanks for sharing, Robin!

What an amazing story! Keli that was awesome! Thanks for keeping the magic alive in so many hearts! And delswife, that was again a classic saga. You make me laugh through my tears! DH doesn't get the DIS like I do, but I have had him read your stories, and he loves them, I'll have to share with him again tonight!

KelliR, you're just wonderful.

And Delswife, I am so sorry about Em's mom. I wish you the best of luck with your "plans" for her.

Oh my gosh...........what a truly amazing story, and a truly amazing person KelliR is to be able to send a little *magic* to little Em!! It is the little things people do in life that make the biggest impact on others. Kelli, you thought getting another bracelet for Em was just one of the *little things*.........but look how much your act of kindness meant to this precious little girl!

Wobin, I have been lurking on these boards for some time now, I didn't like to go "too far" and join in on the fun again because it seemed like such a long time until my family would be able to go to WDW again. DH likes his work TOO much. We went for the FIRST time in Feb 2003, (DS are now 13 and 8, they aren't exactly young'uns), I found the boards then thank goodness, and I have "forced" DH to agree to a Feb 2005 trip. Yee hah. Anyway, you have drawn me back into the Disney Magic when I found your trip reports, and they brought all the Magic back in my heart. Thank you for being such a wonderful person and allowing us a peek into your family's life. The reports were priceless, and then I had icing on the cake reading about Em and her bracelet. Thank goodness for the Tinkerkelli's in the world, and it brings to mind how I can go on spreading little bits of kindness. Thank you Wobin, and thank you Tinkerkelli. And a side note, you and Del make for a very special place in Em's life, and she is very lucky to have you. Continue to stand up for this little one. (I agree that confused SIL and Em's mom need to be locked away together). Anyway, thanks for the touches of magic you have spread.

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. WHAT AN AWESOME STORY!! I know it's nothing fictional, and everything that has happened is true. I just have no other way of putting it! I thought I was being to sensitive when my eyes swelled up with tears. But after reading other responses, I'm glad I was not alone with my emotions!

KelliR- YOU ROCK! Your thoughtfullness will go a long way in more ways than one!!! You just make me :D

Delswife - Nothing angers me more, than a mother or father being selfish to a child! I'm glad Em has you and Del in her life. Em is a gift from God and you and Del continue to show that baby what is means to be loved unconditionally!!!

Now I'm going to close my mouth before I say something not nice!

:love2:
Much Love
Kim
