Just a question to ponder:

Why is the Sunday after Thanksgiving much more expensive than Saturday when the Sunday plane is about 1/3 full according to the seating chart and the Saturday plane is 3/4 full?

(Saturday vs. Sunday evenings from Orlando to Boston via Delta as viewed on their web site).

Sunday evening is prime-time for business travelers, who make last-minute reservations to take them to where they're going to be working for the week. (Gosh, I knew that routine well!) Furthermore, as the end of the holiday weekend, most folks would prefer to travel home then, rather than Saturday evening, so they get to spend an extra day with family.

Airlines allocate the number of seats they will sell at each fare level based on how many seats they project will ultimately sell. Also, seat maps are not necessarily a good indication of how many tickets have been sold because not all ticketed passengers have seat assignments.

not to mention the fact that the sunday after thanksgiving is the single most traveled day of the year. every year. its also the worsdt day to work in the airline industry as well. kindof like working in retail the day after thanksgiving and christmas day.
