Just wondering why disney can't come up with an attraction/show at the theatre in Disney Studios(I think the last thing was a "Doug" show and before it was the show with clips from "I Love Lucy" and "Tooltime"). It has been empty for so long. they already replaced WWTBAM with the Toy story Ride. Why can't they do something here? Anyone know its status?

the ABC Theater had been used for special events now and then, but the big Meg Crofton press release announced there would be a new show coming to it. There's been some speculation as to what exactly, from a permanent home to HSM to all new shows.

Hope its not HSM..I'm not into it and DS is too old for it also. Hope it would be something more universal..oh well.

HSM is pretty darn universal, as far as the following goes. I'm not a huge fan of it of course, but my DD 10 and DS 4 like it.
When you consider the fact that HSM2 had the highest ratings of any cable program in HISTORY, I'd say that it would be one of the most popular shows ever.

We don't have any kids but when the first High School Musical came out, my husband and I watch it and liked it. It's not something we would run out an see at a theatre but it was good for a television movie. But I had never even heard of Doug before went to Disney World and a friend said we should see the show. Glad we did but I didn't cry when it closed.

Great thing about Disney World - there's something for everyone.

Guess I need to be careful in my wording of things(universal vs disney). Hopefully this attraction with feed the masses if its HSM. Just not me.

Something will be announced VERY soon, i'm sure.

The seats have been ripped out and replaced in the theatre and Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc will be moving to Streets of America soon (mike and sully's 'cove' backs onto the stage of the theatre and they use it as a break room).

I am almost certain that it WILL NOT be high school musical, but something tied into a reality tv show ;)

I always wished they would put the Hunchback show in there. The building was empty and it would have been great if they could have put that wonderful show in there.

My daughter is 6, and I am 35. I know every song in HSM 1 and 2 by heart now. They are actually quite catchy.

I would much rather hear HSM sings bac to back to back to bcak then SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS!

HSM3 is due out soon, so we have at least anoth 2-3 years of it. Why not give it a home.

I think HSM is about as universal as it gets. All of my kids love it, although my oldest son would not admit it. I thought when my daughter began 2nd grade this year I would have a break while she was in school. I was wrong my 3 year old son was worse than she was. I bet I have seen HSM2 30 times easy. The songs are very contagious. Much better than many childrens shows.

We had to wait to see it at what was MGM. On the 25th we will be seeing HSM the ice tour.
