Employee discounts

I can get light fixtures at cost. Not that I want any.

I get entertainment discounts from work through Plum benefits. I've gotten some decent tickets for broadway shows amor Vegas shows through them. They also have Disney and Universal tickets usually with buy X amount of days get Y free deals.

We also get random ones like we can get a free fitness watch/smart watch from an approved list if we are willing to let the company have access to our step count. We also get cell, internet, and electronics discounts.

Through our union, we get discounts on recreation type things. Disney just did away with giving them tickets at a discount : (
My ex was a district manager for Coca Cola, needless to say we were the supplier of soft drinks at every party. He ran the soda/ice at the state fair so while my kids were growing up, we never paid for entrance, rides or food. When we divorced, he changed jobs and I had to pay, crap it was expensive!

I'm a nurse . Wouldn't it be nice if getting an affordable health plan would be a perk ? Nope! instead it's high deductible , high premium plans. But I do get lots of alcohol swabs and stray gloves:p. They've actually come in quite handy. I have also gotten random supplies that outdated. You better bet I'm excited to use my expired Dermabond to glue my kids back together next time they gash themselves open.
DH works at a cardboard box plant. We get boxes easily if we need them. Certainly not exciting perks either way .

Yup. My DH works for a major supplier to appliance and auto manufacturers. He can get a discount through the website on certain appliances models, which I only used to buy an exhaust hood when we remodeled our kitchen (didn't want the other appliance models on discount), also on some cars, which he has used a couple of times.

My daughter works part time at a Drug Store and she (and her immediate family with whom she resides with) get stuff at cost. I recently bought two bottles of generic Advil and it cost be $3.25 instead of about $15.00. It's a good discount so I need to remember to shop there more often. Where I work we only get discounts on select hotel rooms in our province.

Come to think of it I guess we get a discount on pharmacy items thru the hospital. A few years back I got infant tylenol (the kind in the dropper) for .80. Thats right, eighty cents. Anything that is a generic brand is considerably cheaper than nearby stores. Its not too often I need anything so this perk gets put into the 'meh' category with the others.

I secretly dream of being married to a chiropractor for the perks. My back goes out in a mean way about every 2-3 months and it always seems to happen on a Friday evening. Waiting in pain all weekend for what ends up being a 5 minute visit to get popped in the right place bugs me!

A relative of mine worked at a supplier of Sears house brands. We ended up with cases of Sears branded dishwashing and laundry detergent, and Weather Beater paint. The supply of detergents lasted years past her leaving the company when they closed the location. I think the prices were maybe 20% of retail prices.

best employee discount I ever had was when I was in college and worked part-time in a furniture store that was part of a smallish multi state chain. as employees we could purchase furniture at cost plus 10%. my spare bedroom houses the highest end brass daybed the store sold (sucker weighs a ton but despite being over 30 years old and having spent years on end stored in less than great conditions-looks like new). db and dsil have a bedroom set I used my discount on back almost 35 years ago-sold wood and still looks amazing.
