I've just read a report from someone who is currently at the HNY, and has paid the extra for the Empire State Club rooms.

The rooms are apparently exactly the same as all the other rooms at the HNY. The poster on the other forum was even going to post photos of the "new" rooms, but he hasn't bothered, as they are no different from the normal rooms.

I would assume the got the extras from staying the HNY suites though?

I would not be happy if that was me!! I've read that report too, they also asked for a lake view room and have said they are facing a car park. No very good for the amount of money you have to pay to stay there!

Still doesn't sound very good value for the extra money.... I seem to remember reading somewhere that only suites got the bigger perks though?

I posted the bit about the bedrooms here as I know its been asked before - but I can't remember the original thread about it.

The person who has posted from the HNY today, I'm assuming, got the other perks listed for Empire State Club bookings, but no lake view room, and he said something about the "lounge reserver" service, which isn't available after park-closing time (but I don't know what that service is to be honest).

When I booked for our trip in Dec, we booked Empire State room, lake view and the lady on the phone said the rooms had been renovated (probably means new paint) and that they had seen them and they were lovely.

I would not be very happy, if, having booked (and paid for) a lake view, getting a carpark view. I would expect to be moved to a lake view room or receive a refund for the difference between a lake view and a std view.

Having never stayed at DLRP before, I have never seen the regular rooms at HNY so probably won't know if they are renovated or not, but I will know if we don't have a lake view when we have booked and paid extra for that view. Did that person on the other forum ask to be moved if they paid for lake view?

Thats interesting, I've been over to have a read on the forum and woul be very interested to see there response to your questions Elaine.

We considered booking empire state, but because we got the free night and day offer to stay for the same amount of time that we are going to now it would have cost us £300 extra. It would be great to have FP's but i'm not expecting it to be mega busy when we go so I think they would have been abit wasted really.

I hope HNY is nice as i'm really looking forward to staying there, as the next comment on the forum sugguested its going abit down hill!!

I saw this as well. We had priced this up for Early January and were considering it but it puts you off doesnt it.
DH was told by the CM on the phone that it was really nice and the rooms were bigger and you often got extras thrown in eg bottle of wine. It was so much cheaper than CC at DLH but to honest the reason I want to stay in CC is to stay in DLH and to be able to sit and watch the park from the lounge.

Oh dear - the poster has replied and given a bit more information - I don't know if I can post the link here, but it would really give some useful insight for anyone who is considering the Empire State Club experience at HNY.

Hummm..... I'm kinda glad i didnt book now loool..... I think it will be interesting to see what others make of it.

Thanks for posting this info, we had been debating whether to upgrade to Empire Floor but decided against it, so pleased we did. Can,t believe they close the lounge the same time as the parks ,would have thought it would be like DLH cc lounge. It doesn,t seem worth £300 extra but thats only my opinion.

I completely agree, have you booked a lake view room? We've just gone for a standard, would have liked lake view but for £90 it was a no :rotfl:

you may get a lake view anyway...we did when we stayed in march and we had only booked a standard room :yay:

...hoping the same happens in october!!

I booked standard room originally then got over excited as I normally do and changed it to Lakeside. Reading these threads though it sounds like quite a few people seem to get upgraded by chance so I maybe should have waited.:goodvibes

I can’t understand what he is complaining about. He as a Disney fan should have known that the Empire rooms will be the same as the standard rooms because Eurodisney has not rebuilt these rooms. They were standard rooms before and they are still now.
The only difference is the private lounge and the separate reception.

This is the difference to the Castle Club at the DLH. Because this area was planned to be special from the beginning and so they could plan and realize bigger rooms than the standard DLH rooms.

And regarding the lake view at HNY: It is not fair if they have told him that he would have a lake view room and then he didn’t. But for me this is a little bit strange. Because every Disney fan should know that you have to pay extra to get a Lake View room at the SL, NPBC, HNY and DLH. So when you book a Lake View room you get a conformation that says Lake View room. And if I would have a written confirmation for a “Lake View” room than I would not accept to have a room to the parking lot.

i dont want to sound mean *** i completely understand if somebodys expectations were not met it is of course a big disapointment. i of course have not been to disney yet so maybe i have it wrong but it seems to me you really need to do your homework before going and weigh up the pros and cons *** even though it may not be right it is more expensive because it is disney. i mean where else in the world would i pay 900 euros for a two star hotel for five days kwim. it seems to me the poster got everything that disney has said were the perks. if you expect more that is not disneys fault. i havent seen anywhere that they take your bags up for you and you have to pay for lake view as far as i know. maybe it was requested if one was available but that doesnt mean you are entitled to one.

There is not much difference between a castle club room and a standard room at the DLH so I would not excpect the HNY to be any different.

I understand that you would be dissapointed if Disney doesn't deliver what you are expecting.

However I get the feeling that this guy knew exactly what he was getting when he booked, got exactly what he knew he would get when he booked (other than the lake view) and is now complaining about it.

Everyone knows that Disney Hotels are expensive when compared to any other Hotels in the area (and other areas). My holiday to a 3 star hotel in Bulgaria cost me £180 for a week half board compared to £300 for 4 days at the Santa Fe!

And someone who reportedly spent 10,000 euros on DLRP this year alone would be well aware of the overpriced hotels!
