EMM now being offered at DHS! Epcot to follow?

Thinking about this one, I agree if ToT or RnR were included, it would be a no brainer. But I am not a fan of Star Tours, (makes me sick, will do it once though) and we are not into meet and greets. Maybe do a few rounds on TSMM and then get in line for RnR? Hmmmm

And most of the people doing EMM will likely be out of the park by 10am. So I'm still not seeing how it affects lines of the park opens at 9am.

Do you really think most people doing EMM will leave the park? Just wondering what you base this on? I hope you are right but just wondering why people would leave.

I didn't realize Disney was supposed to make things fair. And they don't make anyone do those things, they offer those services but people choose to use them.

Well for a company that makes you make most of your plans 6 months in advance, I think it is poor customer service to change things when people have already made their plans and cannot change them (no fp left, no adr's left). They also, just added this within a week, and it's for the first week of August, so for some, it was added 3 weeks before there plans were made 6 months ago. Sorry, ridiculous.

Then they could never change things, or add things like hours, or take things away because someone is always planning. Besides for every guest that thinks its unfair there is one that thinks offering it is great. So for those who think its great it isn't poor customer service at all.

Call me crazy, but we are doing this. We usually only get to go to Disney once every 2 years. We love HS, and we love TSM, but have only gotten to ride once per trip. This is worth it to us to ride this ride over and over. We also love getting pics with Buzz and Woody and Olaf will be fun too - not to mention the Big Guy and Gal. And I heard that the breakfast in MK was really good too.

Do you have to eat the breakfast during your early entry time. If you did, that would be defeat the purpose of getting on the rides early.

I think a lot of people doing these are either AP holders like me, or locals who have been to the parks before. They can get a lot out of the way early and hit another park. If they're riding TSMM and ST early and getting all of their meet & greets out of the way in the morning, they can ride RnR and TOT between 9 and 10am and be done for the day. Even if they wanted to catch a couple shows or another ride or two, that's still maybe another hour at most.

The breakfast is out buffet-style until 10am. EMM people can ride the EMM exclusive stuff until 9am, hit something else when the park opens at 9, and eat breakfast at 9:30 if they wanted to.

Checked our itinerary and wed is HS day, it would allow me to drop the TSMM fastpass and pick up an RnR one. I think I'm going to book it. We should get done with the park by 1. Maybe back at night for the Star Wars dessert party when that is bookable (blue on the calendar, but no times come up for any date). MK EMM on Tues, this on Wed. So much for sleeping in at all this vacation!

$69 for an hour for two rides and a couple of meet and greets? And then what will likely be a mediocre breakfast? (I hope I'm wrong.)

Wow, what's next?

Right? Don't forget the ticket to get in too. Considering many think they were charging too much already for a "half day park" it is quite....amazing.

I personally do not quite get the concept of trying to rush and get it over with to race around and get other parks "done". Is it a vacation or a root canal?

Not a fan of the add-ons for my family, though I am glad that it seems the MK one doesn't negatively affect other guests. Not certain that would be the case with DHS with the importance of JTA sign-ups and the fact that it has far fewer rides. I like the fact that this one includes meet and greets, those definitely are time-eaters in a park day and would really free you up to do all the other rides once the park opens. Unfortunately, the cost is just too prohibitive for my family of 5 and our touring style (plus I get motion sick on Star Tours, so multiples on THAT are no appeal to me!)

I don't see it as expensive at all. We would pay $35-50 each for a breakfast at our resort each day for the 5 of us. And the reviews of the breakfast at MK for EMM have been good. Still think it's worth it.

The value of this is one of those things that will vary greatly among guests. I imagine most guests don't typically spend that much on breakfast each and every day.

I just have a hard time equating breakfast in a counter service location with the value of a nice character meal in a table service restaurant. YMMV.

I don't think the quality of the food is any less than the character breakfasts. And honestly, we order room service breakfast most days so we spend that anyway. For US, it is a good deal and worth the money. There's not much else my kids can ride at HS anyway.

Stop giving them ideas!!!

We think sometimes that the pleasure of balloons is watching the balloon sellers and their huge bunch of balloons. And why buy one because then you aren't watching it? And then we think "next they'll charge us to look at the balloons" and then we think "stop giving them ideas!"

Ha!

But but but...they keep raising the costs and not just keeping things the same but decreasing things. They are CAUSING the crowds to be down!

Bumbershoot, you know what my problem is? My problem is that I am just not grateful enough to Disney for lowering the crowds. I need to work on my attitude. It's just that paying for the same thing three different ways irritates me. I mean, I'm already biting on the 500 dollar La Quinta hotel room.

Not give them ideas? Well, I just want to prove I can roll with the ridiculous, too.

AND HEY! Whomever it was that said castmembers make $$$$--uh, no.

Just had to throw that out there. No employee makes $$$$. The CEO makes $$$$$ but everyone else makes $, minus taxes. So half a $. I have a brother that is an amazingly talented illustrator and artist. He was recruited very heavily by Disney. Let's just say between their contract spelling out total ownership of the artist's craft and the meager compensation he turned them down. (My advice to him: "Told you, bozo, to go to B-school, and learn to be exceedingly clever with other people's money! No one respects artists! It's assumed you artist types enjoy poverty!")

:sunny: Just bringing a little sunshine into my brother's life. It's what I do.

Have a good day, people---back to work for me because you know those 500 dollar hotel rooms and triple tickets for the same thing don't pay for themselves! :flower:Plus there is someone somewhere depending on that 42% of my income for their support, not that I'm complaining! Oh heck no, I'm just grateful to be "rich"--at least according to the pols in DC.

:thanks:

Yeah, compared to the price of room service, I can see how one might find it to be a good value.

I really wasn't talking about the quality of the food though. I'm really talking about the venue. I think the counter service locations just have a different feel form the table service locations.

If people want to give money to Disney that is none of my business, it's not worth it to me at all, but it does affect the parks on those days as people will already be there, similar to EMH - but probably no where near the volume of people.

People who stay off property might think EMH is not good for the same reasons.
