EMM now being offered at DHS! Epcot to follow?

I wouldn't pay for the MK one nor the HS one, but I'd be interested in an EMS for Epcot.

I would suspect an Epcot EMM would be all Future World. Having both sections be a part would be a nuisance, and even for regular open only a bit of WS is open.

Perhaps my post was a tad misunderstood by some. That happens when folks have come to the the discussion table in a defensive posture. So to clarify; I am not wading into the "these extra ticketed events take away from the experiences of others" debate, although there is certainly merit to the idea that the hard ticket parties do, but we aren't discussing those--we are discussing Disney selling EarlyMagicMinutes (or whatever it is called) for an upcharge to a park to which people already have paid for once. It's like Disney is saying, "Okay, it's a 150 dollars for admittance. It's another 75 if you want to ride anything before noon, and we will effectively take away those that have planned on early admittance with their 60 dollar egg plates, so BONUS! you will be in front of them---AND we will throw in a bagel."

Guests are now saying, "I'll see your rope drop, and raise you an 8 am ADR."
Disney is now hoping to raise the wager:
"I'll see your 8 am ADR and your rope drop, and raise you an EMM."

Yeah, well, I'm calling. Enough already. In fact, I might need to wander over by the roulette table.

It's a tax on those that must travel when it is congested. It's an upcharge for those that just *have* to feel as if they are getting "it" first. Whatever "it" is. Especially at DHS and EPCOT. I mean, I'm not a morning person anyway, so the idea of busting it to get to DHS super early is very humorous. Heck, I don't even know if it is worth going to, much less paying more for.

But hey, that's just my takeaway. YMMV. It's your money, spend it however you want. Some people think a 40 percent tax rate of median incomes is okay, too. We are all different.

Oh, and I don't really speak snark, but some poster intimated that people are not "getting it" in regards to this new experience/charge. Ah, contraire. I get it. I get it just fine. But the post made me laugh, so thanks for that. For a second I was back in the boardroom with the latest crop of marketing *geniuses* with the degrees and big spread sheet ideas and absolutely no feel for the brand.

This is TOTALLY so I apologize, but I highly recommend the movie 'The Big Short" to everyone. It's a must see. Don't watch it with the kids, the language is terrible, but if you want to see how the economy is manipulated, you have to watch this movie.

I was kidding with you. It's tough keeping up with which parks have EMM vs EMH. All I know is neither have affect my ability to get to through my touring plan for the day.

A few years ago, there was an "Allears" Toy Story party. It was a private event and it was supposed to be unlimited ride access before the park opened and a private breakfast. There was a lottery system to buy tickets because everyone wanted to go. I think they were over $50 but I don't recall. I attended and was able to ride Toy Story exactly one time before rope drop crowds. It was the lamest waste of money. The $69 pp is a bargain compared to that experience.

I don't think $276 for a family of four to have early access to a couple rides and breakfast is worth it. But, I guess some people are so eager, they'll pay for it.

Again the wording on this is tricky. On the WDW page it says non refundable then when you book it says 1 day cancellation policy. It also states one day on the HUB.

I have been peeved about these upcharges but this is going to be our last trip for a while and so - wth. Star Tours and TSM are favorites! and since it includes a nice big breakfast, it will work well for us!

I don't believe it will. I've RD'd twice during EMM at the MK, and from what I could tell, the crowds were no bigger tha. Usual.

Being offered on Mon and Wed mornings starting in August. Rides on TSMM, Star Tours, and Buzz/Woody M&G, and Mickey and Minnie and Olaf M&G. And, buffett breakfast at ABC Commissary.

I wonder if they will be doing this at Epcot too? That one might be worth it!!

MK EMM... definitely. I want to do it when we go. We love those three rides, so to be able to do them multiple times - awesome, and it basically gives us 3 free FP+ because we won't have to use our FP+ on those rides. Plus, it really adds to the rope drop touring. Since we tour in the heat of summer - this is a huge value for us, because we can really maximize our time. And we get a meal. So, to me, great value.

This one at HS, however, I'm unsure of. I mean, on one hand yes, the kids would love all those M&G, it would be great to do them without a wait (not that there's really a huge one), and they would LOVE riding TSMM over and over. But I really don't see this one holding as much value as MK. It really wouldn't change our touring in any way, other than we'd get more rides on TSMM. And, it would definitely turn HS into a half day park for us, we'd be out the door by noon, easily. I suppose if you had park hoppers, the value might come in that you could do the park in half a day, then hop to another park and use your FP+ there.

Whoo Hoo! This is the one I've been waiting for. The chance to ride TSM over and over. Only problem, it's not listed for Oct. Will keep a watch for this. The price is ok for me. I was thinking the rides alone are worth $50, then add a breakfast. Yes!


I'm glad Disney is thinking of ways to make money so if you want it you pay. If you don't want, you don't pay.

Hard ticket events and extras are not going anywhere and if the last couple years is evidence they will continue to increase. There may be some experimenting to fine tune which are popular, but I wouldn't count on this new product type disappearing. Everyone was sure the MK morning would fail as well as the night. They failed to market the night hours and it was overpriced - but by time they found their correct price point it was too late for that run. It may come back in a different variation at some point. Club Villain, test run, successful - now has auditions out for the show so hopefully back for fall. I think we all knew that this was coming for the other parks but I will say I am surprised it wasn't Epcot first with the new attractions.

Value, probably not for most but that is okay since the numbers are limited. As one who has stood in that awful line for Buzz and Woody .... it is worth it just for that if my child must meet them. Trapped forever in that small space with screaming unsupervised kids climbing all over the props ..... yup I'd pay to avoid that nightmare.

And if my DS got to ride TSMM several times instead of just once, yup I'd pay it. Throw in Olaf, Mickey and Minnie, Star Tours and breakfast ........ yup I'd pay it. ALL of these are favorites for DS. Getting all that done before park hours allows me to do a few more once it opens then hop elsewhere, enjoy some pool time, head to Disney Springs and then go back for the fireworks.

It is about what my time is worth and if these are items that were consuming large amounts of my time. While MK had no value for me, I might actually book this one. As far as I am concerned these are pre-park hours with minimal people and it shouldn't impact anyone else's day.

They have the facilities to do 3 of these in EP.

I'm going with:

#1 - FEA, A&E meet, Gran Fiesta plus breakfast

#2 - TT, Mission Space, a few characters (Stitch?!) and breakfast

#3 - Soarin', Character Spot, Nemo, breakfast

I would totally do it. It would allow us to EMM one of the Tier 1's, RD one and FP+ the other.

I like events like this. It makes for a really nice morning with my 3 small kids, and then we can spend the rest of the afternoon at the resort. We don't have to stress over rope drop or PPO breakfast. And we would pay $35-40 per person for breakfast at the resort anyway.

I hope you are right! There is an EMM at MK on our first morning and now an EMM at HS on our second morning. I am concerned about the HS EMM because there are far fewer places for the EMM participants to disperse to at HS after rope drop than at MK. I plan on hitting RnR first thing, hopefully the people who this event appeals to aren't interested in roller coasters
