I've been reading alot of posts about avoiding emh. I was always under the impression that they are a must do, to get everything done. We went last year during Thanksgiving, for our first trip. Wow was it busy. This year we are going mid Oct. I'm hoping for smaller crowds. I have our days planned with the emh, should I rethink that?

I'm no expert, but from what I've read we will be following this plan next week (based on collective advise on the DIS):

- Avoid Night EMH at all costs!
- Attend Early EMH at MK to hit our "must do" rides, then leave before lunch and head to another park
- Spend our first day (partial) at Epcot to hit some "must do's" in WS before we attend on the opening day of F&W Festival

Good luck!

I did the morning emh last week and it was great. low lines and I got most of the main rides out of the way by 10 am. Night emh were hit or miss. I did half of mgm during them and then skipped out on epcot because I was pooped. We didn't have them for MK or I would comment on that. I think it just depends on how tired you are and the crowd level. Last week wasn't too terrible.

I was a huge fan of EMHs when they were in the mornings, but don't like the evening EMHs. Too crowded to bother (for me), and we can't stay up that late and get up early even with the break.

Now that the morning ones are so limited, it is harder to plan. I want to do the morning ones, but avoid the evening ones. On any given trip, I end up using them only once or twice now.

But a lot of folks really like the evening EMHs, so I think what works for some doesn't work for others.

Not being one to get up early, I prefer the Evening EMH's. My experience has been that the park with EMH whether AM or PM will be the most crowded all day. I did AK PM EMH once and it seemed I had the whole park to myself, but this was before Everest opened. I haven't been able to fit it in since Everest but hope to on my next trip. MGM is crowded early but the later it gets the less crowded but you can get in most of the attractions fairly easy, the lines to get the bracelet are the longest you will wait on all night. Epcot is crowded in FW but less so in WS. MK to me seems to stay the most crowded but depending on the time of year & the actual hours of EMH can be a good way to get in some of the rides you can't get near during the day. On the nights when the park closes fairly early MK will stay very crowded throughout the PM EMH.
