EMH vs Rope Drop

Just curious... how does being at opening for a.m. EMH compare to regular non- EMH rope drop morning? Still huge crowds? Running? I assume that first hour is productive but is it still possible to get a lot done in the second hour of am EMH? I have my plans pretty set but I still am torn about doing EMH or not. We're going at the end of June and it will be the busiest we've been, I'm sure!

Fewer guests will be at the AM EMH rope drop than on a regular hours rope drop.

Hahahaha yes, I totally get that behavior is subjective. I am so completely indecisive about this I'm making myself nuts! But I do think it's worth trying, and we definitely plan to be out around, or just after, lunch time for much-needed rest in the afternoon.

I rope drop all the parks and hop out. How effective that is depends on which park you go to and what time of year. For it to be effective, you really need to be there at the open.

For example, opening at MK in October, I did all of tomorrowland and fantasyland I cared to and was at the barrier holding crowds back into adventureland right before 9:00 am opening. Totally worth it. In August, I got through some of what I wanted in tomorrowland (which included riding space and buzz multiple times). Did not get into fantasyland before general park open. Still good wait times in adventureland, but I am not walking on BTMRR; I am waiting 15-20 minutes. We ceded fantasyland because my kids have outgrown it, and I won't insist if waits exceed 20 minutes.

at AK in October, I was finished with the park at 9:30. I did not ride the safari because I was with my son, and he did not want to, much to my irritation, but we go a lot, so I let it go. We rode EE, dinosaur, and primo whirl repeatedly. This was when we decided to do all four parks in one day, and we did do it.

Even with early entry Epcot, I can't get soaring and TT in without a long wait. I can walk on one, but not the other, and generally get through mission space and spaceship earth with no waits.

HS is great for early entry, but you do have to be there before park opening because it is a soft one. We were able to do everything we cared to do before lunch, but we aren't show people. This held true regardless of time, but we were not able to ride multiple times on each ride in August as we were in October and June

Thank You!! Love hearing these details!! I actually don't have HS am EMH planned (just didn't work out) but for Epcot I planned for one headliner and FP the other. For AK, plan is Everest a couple times, Dinosaur a couple, and Primeval Whirl. Then FP safari. I plan EMH one day at MK to hit fantasyland and possibly tomorrowland. Another day I have CP 8am ADR so then plan is to go right to adventureland. June will be very very busy but I am feeling more confident now!
