We decided not to do park hoppers for our trip this august.
We will be staying at YC.

On the saturday there is a dhs EMH from 8-9 am but on same day the MK has extended hours from midnight till 2 am?

Our kids are 10 and 7. Which would you choose?
Thanks

I know...The hoppers are an extra $480 for the 6 of us...seems a bit much. Will just have to plan a bit better :)

The park hoppers cost is higher because we booked package before ticket price increase. If we add hoppers we have to rebook at current park ticket prices.

You know your kids best... Do you think you can accomplish anything in an hour? or would you be better off going to the MK in the morning, letting the kids have a nap in the afternoon and then letting them stay up late (assuming the nap will recharge them enough for the night)?

Magic extra hours morning and evening are the reason you get hopper.

Magic extra hours for the non informed are where the crowd levels are normally higher after the extra hours in that park.

So here is my questions for you, we cant just give you an answer perfect for you, because we personally don't know your party.

1. are your kids early morning people up at the crack of dawn without alarm clocks?
2. are your kids night people that would normally stay up till when ever they pass out, unless you make them go to bed?
3. how much do they love to swim?

if they are morning people and the other adults with you don't mind being up for extra morning hours then do them, hop over to different park that is low level crowd for the evening time. ei If magic kingdom has Exta morning hours,do them leave before 1pm, because in August it will be hot, hotel relax, mini goal, disney springs (downtown disney)

Return to evening park that is recommend park for the day on the crowd calendar around 4-5pm enjoy repeat the process.

If they are night people sleep in and do night extra magic hours. as in show up to park at 4-5 ish and stay to 2am

I would choose the MK late night. Since it will be hot, I would got to MK in the morning, take a long afternoon pool break and then head back and stay late.

wow lots to consider. thanks for the suggestions...kids love the pools so might break down and buy the hoppers for the flexibility.
thanks

I would do neither. We never get hoppers, and we almost always avoid EMH parks. Why do you feel like you have to do one? Usually the non-EMH parks are the least crowded options. Just get their before RD!

I'll differ on that. Magic Kingdom can be somewhat crowded for evening EMH, but the ride times are still relatively short (hint: hit up as many rides as possible DURING Wishes... rides are still operating and it makes for great photo ops on the outside rides). At EPCOT, I LOVE the nighttime EMH. Nice empty World Showcase, it's a nice stroll around with the shops open... love it.

Yes, we might actually try an MK p.m. EMH this August. I guess what I should have said was that parks without EMH are sometimes the better choice.

Def. MK Evening EMH. Those are so much better than Morning EMH at DHS. There's nothing to really do at Early EMH at DHS, on the other hand you should be able to get a good amount of things done at evening EMH at MK, since many people leave after Wishes. Have fun!

I understood your comment. Sites like KennythePirate detail that yes, for parks with EMH's those will be heavier traveled, so avoiding those parks is a good idea, however, depending on how late the park is open, crowds do thin out after a little bit. Kinda like how on party days (MVMCP and MNSSHP, the MK is a great park to visit as normal day guests without hoppers will normally go elsewhere so they don't lose a day without being able to see Wishes or MSEP, and if you have hoppers, you just go in, crowds will be low, and then you hop somewhere else later that night.
