EMH Returning!

After thinking about it for a bit, I think it's going to be modeled on WDW's early entry. Thirty minutes rather than an hour. Every park is available to enter 30 minutes early so it doesn't matter which park is your starting park, not like EMH's 'certain days/certain parks' schedule that you'd have to 'align' your starting park with.

The WDW 'stay late' is more restricted. It's selected nights at selected parks for Deluxe guests so your park reservation has to 'align' with whichever park is 'late night' OR you have to have a hopper. I wonder if they'll offer this perk to all 3 onsites or if they'll restrict it to 'the most expensive one'. It could be a very valuable 'perk' for drawing people to the Grand and making them more willing to pay the prices.

I generally agree. But I do not think Disneyland is going to have both parks DL and DCA open for early access each day. There will be an extra cost of staffing involved. WDW has a very large amount of hotel guests so the staffing costs are justified. I think all 3 hotels will have the same access whether it is 30 minutes or 1 hour.

I suspect they'll go the full hour, though I wouldn't be surprised if the attractions are limited to a subset (previously if I recall it was Fantasyland and Tomorrowland at Disneyland and Cars Land, Soarin, and ?? at DCA).

I sometimes forget (had to look it up just now) that WDW has over 36,000 on property hotel rooms. DLR doesn't even have 2500 at the moment (though expansion is underway).

So the dynamic will be a lot different here.

Agreed. The dynamic at DL/DCA is very different. Attractions will definitely be limited to a subset at DL and DCA during early access.

The real question for those of us who can't afford the on-site stay is whether this will be both parks every day all the time, or if there will be designated days for Early Entry at each park as was the case in the past with the exception of the busiest times of year. Pre-covid if I wasn't on site (who am I kidding? I was never on site) I preferred to rope drop the park that didn't have EMH that day so that I could be on a level playing field.

I suspect it will be both parks every day, because Disney seems bent on making the parks miserable if you aren't willing to pay for all the perks. And as Stormy mentioned, WDW is only 30 minutes with extra perks for Deluxe resort guests...One wonders if there will be hotel tiers for us as well. I suspect there will.

Sorry to be so cynical. I'm just starting to feel like Disney doesn't want me there if I'm not willing to drop $10K or more per visit. First world problems, I know.
This is how I’m feeling. It’s fine it’s coming back, but it makes reservations difficult because we also like to start the park opposite if we’re off-site. I’ve already made me park reservations for August, so it would be nice to know if I need to switch them/how it might be affected.

I agree for the morning early entry, it'll be all 3. It's just that it's going to be harder for resort guests to align their 'starting' park or change their 1 day reservation from one park to the other to take advantage of early entry if they have it on a schedule as it was previously. It'd be a bummer if you made your reservations at the max time in advance only to find that your chosen or starting park was NOT the early entry park of the day or that the reservations for that park were already gone when you booked your stay. Maybe they'll have some way to change it round for onsite guests. Although I suppose just like EMH at some point people will just 'know' that early entry is X park on X days so I suppose eventually that issue will take care of itself for the most part.

My reference for the 'Grand only' was for the 'stay 1 hr late at a specific park' perk. But you're right in that there aren't enough overall guests at the Grand to justify it re staffing, unless they restricted the area like they did with DL EMH (IIRC it was FL and TL only).

I think they have to make it at both parks each day (a la WDW) if they are going to keep park reservations. Otherwise, you may have reserved the "wrong" park for that day, and if you have to (or are even able to) change at the last minute, that precious 11AM Blue Bayou reservation that you got up at 3am for is out the window if you still can't hop until 1pm....

I am sure any reservation issues will easily be handled by the hotels and Disneyland.

I would agree fully if Magic Morning were also returning, but we all know that's gone forever. As it is I reserve judgement until we know what the Early Entry schedule is.

I paid for my tickets with Magic Morning back in 2020.
I was told this was discontinued and there's no "refund" available for that.
But now with EMH coming back, are we sure Macig Morning for those with 3+ day tickets IS NOT coming back?

One can hope it does. It's just suspect that disney hasn't mentioned it at all.

I don't think it fits the current leadership's strategy to do so. If leadership changes, perhaps, but Disney's current philosophy is to do whatever they can to not just encourage spending, but to darn near require it. We might see a Magic Morning option added for non-hotel guests, but at an added cost. It appears that this may already be in the works at DCA with the Breakfast Rally that is showing up without details. It appears that this might get folks who buy an expensive breakfast into the park early if the previous description holds. Of course, it might just be a regular time breakfast with an included ILL for RSR or something. We'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, I'll make a youtube video of myself singing it's a small world for 30 minutes straight while wearing my Jack Sparrow costume if Magic Morning comes back without additional cost for folks not staying at an on-site hotel under the current management.

I would expect limited attractions, and I especially wouldn't expect Rise to be available for this. They have trouble getting the maintenance done and having it up and running by normal 8am park opening! But if RSR is included for DCA (and Avengers Campus -- pretty please?), that is a good perk -- It might even convince me to start a day in DCA.
Well, the hotel reservation bucket is basically bottomless no? I don't think Resort Guests would have trouble changing their days if EMH was indeed one park per day.
This is what I think also -- if you're a Disney hotel guest, you're going to have a much easier time switching reservations than pretty much anyone else.
But now with EMH coming back, are we sure Macig Morning for those with 3+ day tickets IS NOT coming back?
I guess no one can be sure until the powers that be make an official announcement, but rumor has it this is gone for good, and I agree that with the current management, this is a rumor that is likely true. Management definitely wants to tip the scales toward their own hotels as much as possible.

This. Not everyone onsite will be taking advantage, as well. Its interesting how many people might avoid the park with early entry as their starting park. With PH limited to after 1pm if i was staying offsite I’d be inclined to start at the park with early entry. Even if every single hotel guest took advantage of early entry the sheer number of offsite guests potentially avoiding that park until 1pm could make for a very pleasant time indeed. Kind of like going to DL on a party day when others are trying to get DCA time before it closes early. Zig when others jag.

I hadn't thought of it like this, makes sense.
