EMH Returning!

I'm excited for this change even though no date was provided. If it is available when I go in August, yippeee. If not, yipppeeee because I'm still going to be at DLR. I look at this as a no lose situation.

I read the Parks Blog page and what I'm a bit struck by is that the whole Magic Bands + introduction to DLR seems to still be without any announced start date or confirmation that it is still coming? I thought Josh D'Amaro announced last year that the new bands were coming to DLR this year. I am scratching my head why there may be a delay because TWDC already uses MagicBand tech at WDW and (from what I understand) DCL.

I don't think the previous alternating schedule will work very well with park reservations... that would mean everyone staying at the onsite hotels would have to align their park reservations with that schedule if they want to access EMH. That does not seem ideal for guests or Disney for multiple reasons, especially when you add in the no park hopping until 1pm part.

I like this news. I don't see it as taking away from those who don't stay on site, but rather giving pre-existing perks back to those who do. At the price you pay to stay on site, you should absolutely get the perks IMO.
I would agree fully if Magic Morning were also returning, but we all know that's gone forever. As it is I reserve judgement until we know what the Early Entry schedule is.

We're going in November, so this is fantastic news. Working under the assumption that the traditional days will apply in the two parks. Hope it's a full hour, but anything would be welcome.
And since we're (finally) staying at the DLH, I actually am delighted that the perk is limited to hotel guests.

I think it is great news - folks doing the EMH seem more likely to take afternoon breaks, which means slightly less crazy afternoon crowds for others. It is a bit of a win-win, and a great benefit for those who can stay onsite and wake up extra early! My fam struggles to rope drop as is, so it wouldn't be much of a benefit to us.

I 100% believe you folks paying these prices should get it and I hope I don't come off that I don't think that way! I wish they had a more affordable value option. If Disney had an option in the $250ish a night I would give them my money..
I agree completely - paying 5 star prices should yield 5 star service/perks. I also think it should be possible to have a fantastic day if you're "just" paying for park admission.

Big question I am sure for many is will ROTR, RSR, Webslingers be operating during the early entry - that would be a BIG plus for staying on site!
This is an excellent question. Because that would make paying the extra onsite somewhat worth it to avoid the madness with these rides to some degree.

Shame for those of us staying at good neighbor hotels (though unlike WDW I wonder if this could change for some of us)
We're planning on going to WDW in 2024 for the first time in years. I was looking at offsite and noticed the EMH for those hotels and was like WTH Disney?!

That's good news! But "later this summer" probably doesn't mean late June for my trip, so I'm going to stay off site for this one. But great news for future trips! And it's nice that they are bringing the perks back!
I agree, but since I've already made park reservations and ADRs, maybe it's better that I don't have to worry about making changes.

If it alternates between the two parks, with the reservation system in place, I hope they announce soon to ensure those of us staying on property have time to change reservations to make whichever park has the early morning hours.
I’m wondering how this is going to work as well with the reservation system. If it is going to run on the same alternating schedule as before it is the opposite of what we have planned for august. Hope they announce soon so we can make changes if need be.

I wonder how much value is added for DCA EMH, considering that hopping is restricted until 1pm, there doesn't seem to be a ton of value in getting done with all the rides that early. Wish they would eliminate the hopping restriction!

They were very careful in the wording of the announcement. I don't believe they referred specifically to EMH returning. Just early access generally being reintroduced for hotel guests.

This - in conjunction with the park reservation system - tells me that while hotel guests will get early access, it won't look like what it did before.

The absence of any reference to EMH (particularly the "H" part) tells me we likely aren't looking at a full hour anymore. And, the reality of the reservation system means that it's probably not going to be an alternating system.

My irresponsible speculation only - I think we are looking at half an hour at either park every day.

I agree somewhat. I think the early access might be only to Disneyland for hotel guests. I do not see them offering an extra hour at night like they do for WDW deluxe resorts. I think they will split the baby. Offer an 1 hour to either DL or DCA on a schedule. I think they can change the reservation system so hotel guests can start at either park. It is a very easy fix. Or they could get rid of the park reservation system for DL hotel guests all together.

Also, the Magic Morning 3-day ticket early entry will not come back at all.
