I have read and read these boards and one thing I can't decide on is to do EMH or not. I probably would not do evening EMH (I think) because we have a DS3 and I don't think he'd make it that late but I can't decide about morning EMH. Some people seem to swear by it and everyone else says to go to the parks the day after their EMH to avoid crowds. Which is it?? What do the majority do??

I would definitely do EMH. My family and I went in January and were so happy that we made the effort. We were able to ride a lot of the rides in Fantasy land that we usually avoid because of the lines. I have a dd4 and she did fine getting up early. I just made sure I had drinks and snacks handy since she is not a morning person. Have fun!

We do the morning EMH but we also have Seasonal Passes so if the park get crowded we can hop to another. You can do more during the EMH in the morning and the 2 hours afters that than the rest of the day in some parks. We naturally wake up early and it is not a hardship for us to get up. I also personally enjoy the opening ceremonies.

We do morning emh's so that we can leave by mid-morning or after lunch and take a long afternoon break and then we go back out for the evening and dinner. I do like the evening emh's every once in a while just because I normally go in Sept and the park hours are shorter than normal so it is nice to get a chance to be in the parks after dark.

I've not really ever noticed, until our trip in May. We went on a Saturday to AK, the EMH morning. I have never seen AK that busy. Loads of people milling about, I think it was the walkways that were the worst, rather than the actual rides.

In general, the parks are more crowded on an emh day.
If you do not have hoppers, avoid them.

We avoided them. Every day the bus cue for the park with the emh was jambed out the entire bus cue. The parks we went to, our bus wasn't even full.

Our in-laws went during a really slow time and they reported emh didn't make much difference in crowds. So I think some of it is dependent upon the crowds in general.

I avoid EMH parks myself (I'm not an early riser.) I go to parks with no EMH and the best is to go to a park the day after an evening EMH. I think the new MYW tickets are making a bit of a difference now with the EMH parks. Now that people can opt out of the hopping option, I think even more people want to do the EMH parks to get more out of their ticket so those parks get a bit more crowded and then stay that way since not as many people are leaving to hop.

I definitely think it depends on the time of year, but generally speaking we almost always do EMH unless we have already spent enough days in that particular park.

We always take advantage of the morning EMH. Whether it's EMH or regular hours you can get a lot done at all the parks early in the morning. The big crowds don't ususally arrive until later in the morning.
However, it you are not going to participate in the morning EMH I would definitely skip that park for that day. The combination of the Disney resort guests at EMH and the off-site guests coming in later in the morning will make that park very crowded from around 11am on.
Since we have had to go to WDW in June four times due to DS school we have learned to...1) get to all the parks before opening....2) leave that park by noon for a resort break...3) go to another park later in the day.

We've always loved the early mornings. Our kids are usually to excited to sleep in(at least the first few mornings), so we are up and at it. You have to do a char. meal in MK, before parks open. We've taken many beautiful pictures and had main street practically to ourselves! We leave mid afternoon for our break, and usually go back to a different park, although we find the first two weeks of Dec. are not really busy anyways. Have a great vacation. Janice

When my dd, now almost 13, was younger we hit the morning EMHs (aka EE). But, now that she's older, we usually do the evening EMHs. Or we head to the park that had evening EMHs the night before. We've been many times now, so that 'urgency' has worn off.

EE into the MK to do Fantasyland with a little one is definitely worthwhile. The other parks, I wd look at the list of open attractions & decide if there are enough that you are interested in. For example we don't do ToT or RRC in the Studios so we never go to EE there.

It depends upon when you are going. We usually avoid EMH, but when we went the week between Christmas and New Year's it was absolutely necessary to use the morning EMH, especially at Magic Kingdom.

Loved EMHam at all the parks. You can get so much done before it gets crowded. Also, you can ride the most popular rides and FP for a later ride if it's one of your favorites. Only took advantage of EMHpm x1 and it was OK, but was more crowded than in the am. Being a morning person helps, obviously, but EMHam can't be beat! :)

we always do each park for emh at least once, MGM twice ( just to go on tot and rnr second time then we leave) we get to do lots so that by the end of the morning we can kind of kick back and smell the roses the rest of the day, doing less busy stuff, shopping ,snacking what ever we want to do. last time at Mk we did the mts , buzz 2 times in a row, fantasyland ( except magic carpets and dumbo)and i think pirates/ jungle cruise before lunch. we do go off season so we never leave that park ( except MGM) as crowds are not an issue

can't say about peak season but imo it's the best way to go off season. occasionally we wil redo a big ride like rnr later in the day if the lines are not long but if they are we can cruise on past knowing we already did it. i do not think we have waited more than 15 mins ever for a ride our past 5 or 6 trips except a show or two that just started and we didn't want to leave and come back.

if ee is part of emh i'd do ak but it was the only park i don't know that it is worth it. i love the safari early, saw ttbab with no wait but that was about all that's open ( maybe dino...can't remember if we rode that right after emh or during)

Well our plan has us doing MGM on a EMH evening day. We're arriving earl b/c we're doing the Playhouse Disney breakfast. Are we going to have a problem? Should we try to change to another day? How bad is MGM on a evening EMH day?
