EMH (morning) MK strategy with teens

Who: 2 Teen boys, One boy has been to Disney several times in the last few years, the other has not been since 2012
Where: Staying at Wilderness Lodge, park is Magic Kingdom
When: First Friday in August, Park is open from 9 am-10pm with EMH starting at 8 am

They aren't interested in meeting princesses or other characters, but are interested in the thrill rides (space mountain, thunder mountain, etc.) The one who has been several times recently wasn't terribly impressed with 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, but I still think the other one should ride it at least once, so that is definitely one we want a fast pass for, if possible.

We were there a couple weeks ago on a non EMH morning, and found that rides like Splash mountain, thunder mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean really didn't need a fast pass until after 10 am or so.
Since it is EMH that morning, will the "need" for fast passes happen earlier?

I'm thinking that as soon as EMH open they should head to Space Mountain, then do a couple other things in Tomorrowland (Buzz Lightyear? Speedway?) While the EMH are still going on.

Maybe get a FP (if possible) for 7 Dwarfs for 9-10 am, Splash Mountain for 10-11, and Thunder Mountain for 11-12--so:
9:00 am--7Dwarfs with FP
9:15 am--Haunted Mansion (no FP)
9:45: Pirates of the Caribbean (no FP)
10:15: Jungle Cruise (no FP)
10:55 ish Splash Mountain
11:15 is Thunder Mountain

Then they'd be able to schedule another FP for later in the day, possibly a (much later) Peter Pan?

I'm trying to keep the hours between noon(ish) and 4 relatively clear in case it is so hot they just want to go back to the hotel for a break.
Also, we have 5:30 ADR at Skippers Canteen. Lunch/snacks will just be whatever quick service at their discretion.

Is my schedule above, realistic? Am I likely to get a 9-10 7 Dwarfs FP if I book at 60 days in advance?

I wasn't able to get a 7DMT fast pass that early but I am only going for 2 days so I was basically trying to get everything at 60 days out whereas people staying for longer can get better fast passes for later in their visit... I got it for 2:10... not awful but not great at least I got a FP for it!
