We're going to WDW 10-31-11/04.
Do you think we'll need to use the EMH at MGM to be sure we get in to see Playhouse Disney and the Ariel show?

With some planning I think you'll be fine w/o it. That timeframe shouldn't be too overcrowded.

The ariel show has fast pass, pretty simple. The Playhouse disney show, the first show is usually at 10:30 on a regular opening day. We like to go there and be in line for the first show, the lines can get really long the further into the day you wait. We usually do RnRC and ToT then get a snack to eat and carry it with us to the playhouse disney line. We're usually in line by 9:45 for that first show and there are usually 20-40 people already in line by the time we get there, which is perfect because you won't be in the dead front, it's hard to see down there.
