Hi all!

We are so excited to be visiting DL for the very first time but to be honest I am a bit overwhelmed...

I am a WDW vet and l would like to have many aspects of my trip planned out ahead of time since we don't know If and when we will ever get back to DL.

So here's the scenario: My question is bout DCA specifically. I found a great strategy for which attractions to hit first if you are NOT visiting during EMH but have not been able to find much strategy info about what order to visit the attractions if we ARE visiting during EMH. Our group is just myself, my husband an my soon to be 7 year old. I know that RSR and TSMM are priorities for my son and Soarin' is a priority for the hubby. What should we hit and how much can we anticipate getting done during that first hour ? Should we FP those rides once EHM is over and hit other attractions first ???? I'm so lost...
Thanks in advance :)

My strategy would depend on which of those attractions you might want to do more than once that day.

TSMM is the only one of those without FP, so that definitely has to be done during early entry. I know when we were there last fall, we could have done it many times in a row during EE if we wanted.

With FP, RSR and Soarin are much easier to do during regular park hours. I do think the Soarin FPs are going pretty quickly now though because of the new film so plan for that.

Also be aware that it's not unusual to show up and find RSR or TSMM having technical issues and not open yet, so always have a backup plan.

You have to adopt a lot of flexibility into your plan now. This means: IF ONE RIDE IS DOWN MOVE ONTO TO THE NEXT. Don't spend any of your EMH waiting for a ride that's "testing" or "opening in a few minutes". DCA EMH is notorious for being great or awful. We run a 50% success rate on DCA EMH any given trip. (I've never tried TSMM during EMH full disclosure.)

Our best EMH we single rider RSR, then single rider Screamin, then hit Soarin. Our worst EMH we spent half waiting in RSR line while the ride was testing only to be told to clear out of the line and then we went for Screamin. Our other bad EMH RSR went down, Screamin was down & the TSMM line was FULL (we then tried the Ferris wheel (don't know if the park had opened at this point) and I kid you not it went down right before we got on, it was a bad morning- admittedly we did manage to ride Ariel). I hope you have a very successful DCA EMH but I pass along a cautious tale and a "just in case" plan of attack so you go in eyes wide open if everything doesn't play out perfectly.

If you haven't already I would recommend checking out the "Early Admission Super Thread" for general strategy tips.

It hasn't been updated to include the Luigi's Tire shut down, but the general principles are still similar: http://www.disboards.com/threads/early-admission-mm-emh-apee-super-thread.1675403/

I would follow that threads general suggestions of RSR first ,TSMM second, and then grab FP's for Soaring as soon as the park opens and FP machines become operational. You didn't mention wanting to get a FP for the Frozen show so maybe that's not on your radar?

IMO there isn't a whole lot to do at CA that hour, if you have kids too young for Screamin or TOT. In May we went with 7 and 9 year old boys (still too freaked out to do the "scary" rides) and it was easy to make a plan. RSR first, if you're there at rope-drop you can easily walk on in ten minutes. TSMM after that, no wait at all. Could have ridden multiple times but didn't. Then either on to Soarin or back to Carsland to ride Mater or Luigi. You can finish up by sending someone to get in line for RSR fast passes, if you want to ride again later.

Awesome!!! I have not seen that thread, thanks for the head up, will definitely read through it.

I really appreciate all of the comments and advice!
