EMH Early Check-in Question

Hi All,

I am planning my first trip to Disney World as an adult (and my partner's first trip ever!) this August. We would never be considering this trip at all, but my partners' parents recently purchased a condo about 2 hours away from Disney World, so we will drive in very early on the 21st, plan on spending the day at MK before crashing for the night in Pop Century and driving back the next day.

We opted to book a Disney Hotel largely because we will be able to use morning extra magic hours that day, something a representative on the Disney vacation help chat told me would be possible so long as we did an early check in that morning at the hotel. The representative told me we could check in as early as we needed to. However, I recently sent an email to find out what time they would do the first early check in (I really want to be able to catch the opening show, so I'm thinking we would need to be at the hotel as early as 7:00 am) and they claimed the service only opens at 8:00. If we can't register before 8:00, it seems like there isn't much point to using the EMH.... Does anyone know for sure how early early check in is possible?

You can check in as early as 6AM so you're good.

You can check-in as early as 6am. You could also do online check-in up to 60 days in advance.

Which should speed things up but as of now you do still need to physically check in.

No, you still need to physically check in. They are rumored to be moving towards not having to physically check in. They are testing that feature during a 2 week trial at Port Orleans.

You'll still need to physically go to the resort but they'll have all of your paperwork ready in advance to make the process faster.
