Ok NOT INCLUDING MAGIC KINGDOM do you bother with EMH(early entry) at the other parks? If so, why? What rides are open that you want to get in during the EMH?

You can vote for each park.

Thanks!

Of those choices I only do MGM on EE because I love Tower of terror and Rock N Roller Coaster- gives me a chance to do both at least once if not 2 times. Or at least do them once and get a FP for later. However, I will say I did EE in October at MGM and after about 10:30 the park was sooooo crowded. The first 2+ hours were okay- we did ToT, RnRC, Millionaire, & Walt Disney One Man's Dream and then things started to bog down after we saw Millionaire....we ate our lunch at 50's PTC and then decided to leave it was THAT crowded. Beauty and the beast live on stage had a line snaking down Sunset Blvd! (That was the only other thing we REALLY wanted to see, as we had done all the other shows back in March...). If I go again during regular season, I may avoid MGM on EE days, cause after 10:00 AM or so, the crowds are VERY large, esp. back in the corner by Star Tours, Muppets and Indiana Jones. Eek. :earseek:

Those of you who said yes for MGM.....is it mostly for ToT and RNRollercoaster? My family will not try either of these. Last time we went for early entry to MGM, we were totally annoyed that nothing we wanted to do was open so I'm not sure early entry at MGM is worth it for us.

AK, I assume everybody heads for the safari right away...what else do people do in that extra hour?

I've already decided against early entry for Epcot....we generally never end up waiting in Epcot so I'd rather sleep a little longer.

Now that the oldest is a teenager, we don't get up early for much! We had AP's and camped at FW for 2 summers in a row, so we took a leisurely strategy and did not do any EMH's. We just chose a non-EMH park to visit each day.

Of the three probably only MGM is likely to be an EMH for us next trip. I am an early riser and like to be on the go at Disney but hubby is not a thrill ride person and thinks vacations are for lounging (go to the beach for that, not Disney!) so we'll probably leave him at the Poly and meet him later! If we find crowds are too much, we will probably end up hitting every EMH since we're going for Christmas and it could get ugly by 11 every day. I, personally missed EE on our last trip in 2002 especially since we were at the Contemporary and it would've been so convenient getting to MK and Epcot.

We only do AK for the safari. The earlier, the better. Since I have wee ones, we don't do the thrill rides, so MGM and Epcot aren't rush jobs.

Oh, and cruisnfamily, with the extra time at AK, you can meet and greet characters. Last year I went at peak season. When we walked back by the shows Mickey, Minney, Goofy, and Daisy were standing around looking at each other. No one else knew they were there. My 3yr old was able to get attention from all 4! Definately a thrill.

I chose yes on all three parks...mainly because we are early risers anyway, so we really enjoy getting to the parks and not having many people there with us for that first hour or so....being PAP, we go and then usually are out of the emh park by 11am....the other main reason we do it is for the e-tickets:

DAK: mainly for the safari...the animals are just so much more active in the mornings...

MGM: RnR & ToT before the crowds hit

EPCOT: Test Track and Mission: Space

No EMH. We like to sleep in some on vacation so we normally dont hit any of the parks til 10 or 10:30.

Ok, here's another really silly EMH question for you guys.

Say we don't want to be there right at opening(8am) of the EMH but want to get there before regular opening(9am). Could we stroll up and wander in at 8:30am?

Come to think of it, we've done EMH before, and I don't really remember them asking us for resort IDs but maybe they did. My question is wouldn't there be a line of people waiting for 9am at that point and could we just walk on by them and show our resort IDs and get in?

Thanks, I know it's silly but we usually get there before the opening of EMH or go to another park that day so it's never come up before.

thought I'd bump this up for myself to see if anybody coudl answer my latest question posted above regarding arriving for early entry after it has started but before the general public is allowed in. Can you do this?

Thanks!
